sometimes it will just hit me that over a million americans died from covid in a short period of time and we never had a national mourning. we never collectively grieved. we never honored the dead. this feels like a failure

It’s a show about a murderous alien clown.
It’s great and creepy but the center point of the story is kind of dumb and ruined it a little for me. They’re searching for an ultimate weapon that - scares people to death.🙄

another unorthodox casting choice that clicked in the movie was Tisha Sloan, who was directing a community play in Humboldt where the production was looking for local actors to play the teens; during their Zoom auditions she attended, PTA was like "Who's she?" and cast her as Willa's teacher

And, I'm thinking about our language and culture around trauma, and how on a personal level it often feels lacking for me.

every time a child dies of a preventable disease in the next few years, that's the payoff for Nuzzis horniness
Nuzzi's fawning coverage of the sociopathic conspiracy crank she was having an affair with aided his rise to political power, which he is using to perpetrate the worst intentional public health catastrophe of our unnecessarily shortened lifetimes, and THAT is the STORY.
