President Trump has again floated giving out rebates from tariff funds, but sending direct payments to Americans would be difficult and ultimately unlikely.

Here’s what’s going on with tariffs and the pledge of dividends:
Trump floated tariff rebates for Americans. That faces many challenges.

Voters want a Democratic Party that fights back against the forces that have rigged the system and made their lives more difficult.

A party that comforts the afflicted and afflicts the comfortable —not a party that buckles and capitulates.

When will party leadership learn this lesson?

My post of Decision Desk's decision to call the Seattle mayor race for Harrell last week didn't hinge on who would ultimately win: The point was that a "call" isn't a race to get a prediction right.

But Wilson now being ahead should at least bring more attention to the importance of not rushing.
Calls are about certainty and not risking people's confidence in the final result. Speeding through for competition is not good and irresponsible.

Donald Trump just said he'll ask the Supreme Court to freeze SNAP payments AGAIN.

His message to the 42 million Americans who rely on SNAP? Eat dirt.

"Well see what he did with SNAP"

He lost every fucking case! And you know what? If SCOTUS wanted to allow him to stop it, let them. Let that be the message going in to the midterms, that Trump went to the Supreme Court to stop paying for food for poor people.

The President pardoned members of his private militia after they failed to overturn an election; they, in turn, pledge their support to him and urge him to use them to police civil society.
New:

On The Gateway Pundit's podcast yesterday, Stewart Rhodes announced he's relaunching the Oath Keepers

He also urged Trump to “call us up as a militia" & "order us all to come together in our counties under his command."

Also in case its not being mentioned in your feed, there is still a remaining vote for this and Somehow they didn't anticipate the outrage, so there's apparently some hesitation now.

If those were your senators, call them and don't stop. I will also be calling even though they arent mine
Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.

No matter how they voted last night, every one of them has a say in maintaining Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin as their caucus leaders. Every one of them is accountable here.

I am glad to see SCOTUS denying Kim Davis's attempt to overturn marriage equality.

These baseless attempts to invalidate marriage for same-sex couples are designed to intimidate our community and put families like mine in danger. We all deserve to be happy, and if we choose, to get married.
Today the U.S. Supreme Court denied review of a case that sought to challenge marriage equality. It’s a major relief for so many in the LGBTQ community, who have seen relentless attacks on their dignity and equality in recent years.

Great job, @schumer.senate.gov. You've changed the story from "GOP hurting millions of Americans to please unpopular, failing, delusional despot who's destroying his party" to "Dems are too weak and divided in the face of Trump's strength to take a stand and protect Americans"

Schumer’s resume:

- gets outfoxed by McConnell during two Trump impeachments

- consistently fails to whip the vote when it matters

- folds like a cheap lawn chair under pressure

- thumbs his nose at new progressive candidates

It’s like we brought reading glasses to a gun fight.

Breaking news: The Supreme Court has declined to consider a challenge to its landmark 2015 ruling that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide.

The challenge came from a county clerk who stopped issuing marriage licenses shortly after the ruling.

The announcement indicates there is not an appetite among the high court’s conservative majority to revisit one of the court’s most significant decisions in recent years.

Just thinking again how Democrats asked people to accept short-term suffering in order to give space to prevent long-term, worse suffering and then said, "Thanks for suffering in the short-term. You'll get to suffer long-term too so that our Thanksgiving plans don't get disrupted."
