ICE's actions have sparked terror and chaos in our communities. It needs to end.

When the House takes up the funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) later today, I will vote NO.

Trump is now confusing Greenland and Iceland: "They're not there for us on Iceland, that I can tell you. Our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland. So Iceland has already cost us a lot of money."

Last year, U.S. emissions rose, as did home energy bills—a double whammy of pain to Americans' health and pocketbooks.

I introduced a bill that tackles both problems with a smart, wholesale approach to get to a carbon-free economy while lowering utility costs.

Kristi Noem is making all of us less safe and has completely lost public trust. I've signed onto articles of impeachment to hold her accountable for her actions.

After pushing back against the Trump administration’s move to slash $2 billion in addiction and mental health grants, HHS said they will reverse course & restore funding.

This reversal is a win for behavioral health care & will prevent needless suffering. But these cuts should never have happened.
January 15, 2026 at 5:16 PM
Last night, the Trump administration took a chainsaw to billions of $$$ in mental health and addiction treatment grants that were already approved by Congress.

I led 100 members in a bipartisan letter demanding this lifesaving funding be restored immediately.

I signed on. Kristi Noem needs to go and ICE's brutal activity against our communities needs to end.

I voted no last year on Republicans' Big Ugly Bill that gave $75 billion to ICE with no guardrails.

I will vote no on any budget that fails to rein in ICE's lawlessness.

25 years ago today, the Roadless Rule was created to protect millions of acres of our national forests. The Trump administration is trying to dismantle it. USDA should listen to the hundreds of thousands calling to leave this rule in place to preserve public lands for wildlife & future generations.
What is the roadless rule and why should you care about it?
What is the Roadless Rule? Why does it matter? And what does its rescission mean for some of our last remaining wild forests?

In 2024, Congress passed the National Plan to End Parkinson's Act, a bipartisan initiative dedicated to ending this devastating disease. One of the mandates of that law was for HHS to provide a report to Congress by January 2nd of this year. A week after that deadline, no report has come.

Last night, the House voted to restore vital Affordable Care Act benefits and help drive down healthcare costs for millions.

The Senate must now act to pass this bill and ease the burden of rising costs being felt by so many Americans, including one of my constituents from NY-20, Mekhiya.

The House vote to renew those benefits is TODAY. I’ll be voting yes.

Trump’s shortsighted decision throws away more than 30 years of U.S. leadership and global collaboration and gives up our ability to represent Americans at the international decision-making table while allowing competitors and adversaries to fill the leadership vacuum.

Nowhere and nobody is safe from this administration weaponizing ICE and going after whole communities.

ICE must follow the demands of local and state leaders and get out of Minneapolis at once.
