On top of what Joe said, the proclamation as Newsom signed it, makes a VERY clear point differentiating between Reagan's view of immigration reform and the current Republican view. Basically, Newsom said, "Three cheers for Ronald Reagan, who offered immigrants a pathway to citizenship. Neener."
Newsom did what every governor of CA since Gray Davis has done, and what a literal California law--SB944--signed by Gov. Terminator dictates must be done: "The Governor shall annually proclaim February 6 as Ronald Reagan Day."

Lots of reasons to loathe Newsom. Him following the law is not one, IMHO

This has been the coolest part of the last few months, all of these people stopping Kat on the street to just shoot the shit about what’s working and what’s not because they know her from Instagram or the TV. It happens… a lot. They’re usually people who say they don’t vote but now they will.
One person at a time. One tea stop at a time. One vote at a time.

Walks like this not only remind us what we’re fighting for but also how we can represent our communities better.

We’ll be on Devon again today! Hope to see you there 🧡

Putting the white Reddit homophobe with a nazi tattoo who hasn't won anything front and center over the Brown, Muslim NYC mayor who's possibly the most popular politician in the country is an interesting decision TNR made here
A base that has long made pragmatic, sober decisions appears increasingly attracted to charismatic outsiders who promise to break from the party’s failures of the last decade. They see their party’s leaders as feckless and inept.

I think we need to be clear that breaking our elections is the goal. They're trying to find a predicate for tyranny, as if they need one.

And there's a non-zero chance Trump gets his way, especially with a standoff over DHS possible, Trump will push against the filibuster with all his gunt.
Breaking: House passes new version of SAVE Act, worst voter suppression bill considered by Congress. Could disenfranchise:

-21 million Americans w/out access to citizenship papers
-69 mil married women who took partner’s name
-21 mil w/out valid drivers license

I'm having a hard time reconciling the fact that the Appointments Clause is supposed to be an indispensable protection for liberty with the fact that DHS is operationally under the control of a special government employee who is not legally allowed to work more than 130 days a year.
There is so much crazy shit, outrageous corruption, and naked, hamfisted ambition in this WSJ piece about Noem, Lewandowski, and DHS. Gift link. Read and take note of the of eye-popping number of sources who have knives out for Kristi and Corey.
