It's the stupidity and the evil working in harmony that throws people off. It's like how light has properties of being both a wave and a particle.

If a member of the 1986 #Mets put his World Series ring up for sale and I bought it, it wouldn’t make me a member of the 1986 Mets.
Well, tRump got his Nobel Peace Prize, but it’s still not his. He’ll take it anyway, but it’s still very doubtful that he’ll give her Venezuela.

They’re trying to treat this like a NFL call, as if what’s at dispute was whether the ball touched the ground or if it was a completed pass, rather than what we all saw, some masked goon choosing to execute someone in broad daylight
brainrot MAGA are all convincing themselves that a slow motion review of film footage in the ICE murder, stuff like "look how close he was to the car!!" will make it all blow over. But the fact is that normie white middle aged moms getting executed isn't gonna go well, even with Republican voters

I still have my box of this (I took the cereal out)
Amazin' Mets Cereal (1999-2000): Following the 1999 season, which marked the 30th anniversary of their first ever World Series victory, the NY Mets honored the occasion with a cereal--frosted corn flakes--celebrating their past and present.

My theory on why society got so much worse after COVID was that 2020 marked the point where normal people did the majority of their social interaction online and when they went out into the real world in 2021, all those anti-social impulses were now a part of their real world personality.
It’s useful to think of the Internet as a medium where consequences for anti-social behavior go to die, which partly explains why our politics got so much worse over the last 30 years.
I have neither thrown nor received a real punch in my life but I kind of think the root sin of the social internet is letting people just say and do things that in the real world would get the shit kicked out of them

The last four words are also important here. The USAID cuts should primarily be seen as a eugenicist project. Elon Musk and the far right, generally, believe that foreign aid is a part of the Great Replacement.
This thought has been lingering in my head for a while but this tweet prompted me to write it out.
