You’re offered so much, but you’re frightened to take it.

Music (punk, garage, new wave, jazz, indie, post-punk, glam, classical, whatever), Mets/Jets/Rangers, cats, beer, higher ed, travel, art, etc. Pro democracy, pro justice. Jersey since birth.

We’re more than a year away from midterms and 3+ from the next presidential election (presuming we have them) and I see it’s already “this Democrat doesn’t 100% meet my purity test, therefore they’re no different than Trump” season 🤦🏻‍♂️

This *only* helps Republicans.
I’d buy that, but recent history is against it. Nobody’s worn 48 since the Mets offered to make sure deGrom’s great grandchildren were set for life and he said “nah, I want to leave.”

I kind of thought maybe they’d give Benge 9, but he got a “welcome to spring training, but you’re not making the team” number instead.

I get it, but my feeling is move on. Of course I’m old enough that I think of people as far back as Tommie Agee when I see 20.

You know #Mets, everybody has to have a number on their uniform. 9, 20 and 48 are numbers. Just use them. #MetsSky

Ghislaine Maxwell got into jail for engaging in pedophilia and sex trafficking.

Ghislaine Maxwell hopes to get out of jail by engaging in extortion.

I'm beginning to get the impression that Ghislaine Maxwell enjoys criming.

Host: Trump's trade war is hitting Americans maybe even harder than previously thought. Tariffs raised taxes for the average American household by $1,000 last year, and that is expected to rise to $1,300 this year. This is the largest US tax increase as a percent of GDP since 1993.

I’ve never pepper sprayed into the window of a moving vehicle. It’s not hard to avoid.

Yankees fans; you do realize that this attitude is why everyone else despises your team, don’t you?

I got that card autographed when he spoke at my Little League dinner in I think 1970. Maybe someday Jonah Tong will be the greatest Canadian Met ever, but for now that title still belongs to Dr. Ron Taylor.

*new* from me:

As pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training, three front office staffers spoke to me about helping Latino baseball players and their families navigate an America ravaged by ICE raids.

They say guidance from MLB has been “minimal” so their teams are getting creative.
How do MLB workers protect Latin players from Trump's ICE raids? By themselves.
Front office staffers told eyeblack about keeping immigrant players safe while league guidance is minimal and "Manfred kisses Trump's ass."

MAGA is more outraged by a halftime show in Spanish than by children being raped.

MUST WATCH: Epstein and Maxwell, 16 years apart, both invoked the Fifth when asked directly about Donald Trump.

So the ice dancing theme is 90’s music. I’m waiting for a pair to use When You Sleep by My Bloody Valentine or Fuck And Run by Liz Phair. Maybe Common People by Pulp.

Perhaps the most lovable Met ever. Here’s our cat named after him, and my autographed ticket stub from Game 6.

Maybe next year the halftime show should be arias from La Bohème or Carmen and see how they react 😂

Do the Trump supporters who are hyperventilating about Bad Bunny’s halftime performance because “no one could understand it” 🙄 equally offended by operas sung in Italian? Did Mozart get Le Nozze di Figaro all wrong?

Good point.

How could anyone be surprised? Infuriated sure, but none of it sounds like something they wouldn’t do.

Americans tend not to know much about other countries. When our daughter did a study abroad in southwestern England, a 2.5 hour train ride from London, we’d tell people where she was and they’d say things like “wow, it must be exciting for her to be in London.”

It didn’t work. I still haven’t forgotten that he’s all over the Epstein files.

I love these #Olympics announcers saying “Milan Cortina” without “and” in between, as if that’s one place. That’s like saying “coming to you from New York Boston.”
