First event of 2026: I’ll be in conversation with Rebecca Rowland at The Twisted Spine on 1/17 to celebrate the release of her novel EMINENCE FRONT. I had the good fortune to blurb this blizzard of a book, and Rebecca was sweet enough to gift me an all-purpose snowflake multi-tool, which is a first.

Just got a copy of an anthology I’m in from earlier this year. My story “would you like to hear about our travel package deals” examines disaster tourism through a cosmic lens, featured in Kosmos Obscura from Graveside Press.

First book of 2026 is gonna be Eliza Jabore’s upcoming BACKSTABBERS, on shelves in June. “An incisive exploration of female friendship reminiscent of Yellowjackets and Bodies Bodies Bodies,” you say? I’m so down. Let’s get stabby. Thanks to Ballantine for sending this my way!

I spent the morning thinking about a lot of the indie bookstores that I love and wanted to ask you to possibly do the same. What are your favorite bookstores? Where can you preorder your 2026 books from? Here are some of mine: bit.ly/3L99iKM

Wake Up and Open Your Eyes by Clay McLeod Chapman - a perfect tale for the times we live in.

When the Wolf Comes Home by Nat Cassidy - it doesn't necessarily go where you think it might, so good.

And anything at all by Rachel Harrison. Literally start anywhere. Gorgeous women-based horror stories.

I just caught a screening of a profoundly heartbreaking and cruel movie called THE PLAGUE and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s upsetting and unnerving and a little terrifying, to boot. Try to seek it out, if you can stomach it.
