If this flooding isn’t the absolute best campaign message to vote Green this year, I don’t know what is.

#nzpol The Prime Minister spent longer managing his Spotify Playlists than writing that speech. Nothing new, nothing to help manage growing unemployment, more cuts signalled to government investment. That wasn't a State of the Nation - it was asking people to forget the past two years.

That's us, up near the top! NZ Govt is saving up piles of shares. The other countries up top basically invest some of the spoils from their trade surplus in Govt share portfolios; but NZ runs a trade deficit. What's going on?

This seems like a maliciously put headline to make people feel a certain way.

Wikipedia is not partaking in generative AI. They are making AI companies and scrappers having to pay for training their modules off wikipedia texts. And having an AI (not that ai) tasked with updating dead links.

Agree. There's a gap in the bike network between Crawford Rd and Rintoul St. Call your councillors and ask them to fix this.

I love the improvements to the cycle network in Pōneke. But there’s a major issue: there’s no exisiting or planned bike lane going from the south west to the south east. If you want to safely bike from Kilbirnie to Berhampore (3 km by car), good luck with the traffic or extra 9 km around the coast.

"An amusing ramble"

David, BlueSky.

(Thanks, David!)
First book read this year is The Accidental Tour-ist by @nedboulting.bsky.social. An amusing ramble through his years as a cycling commentator. Enjoyable but always with that nagging cloud that I'm going to miss his work on ITV at the Tour De France in July. ITV's coverage was brilliant
