Most Londoners have no idea how involved the cops are in urban design.

The cops said that local gangs were hiding drugs in the flowers, by which they mean there were brown people hanging out there, so a park now looks like this.

Belfast! I'm BACK on the seminar circuit with my latest project.

All welcome to join me 20 Feb at 4pm for my talk 'First add oats, then kill Hitler: a recipe for resistance in underground Europe, 1920s-1940s'

Plenty of new findings on the correlation between diet and the desire to resist Nazis.

Niche complaint:
There needs to be an end to this "Downing Street has said" shit in political journalism. A person said this in the capacity of an official statement, their name should be with it. UK citizens are entitled to know who speaks on behalf of their government.

Labour people on here complain that nobody knows about all the good things they're doing, blaming the media, but a big part of it is that they, themselves, are standing on the streets with a big megaphone saying how much they hate migrants and foreigners.
Any time I look to see what the Labour government is up to in the UK it turns out to be things like making posters that Alfonso Cuarón put in the background of the long tracking shot that opens “Children of Men”.

I see the "God is Love" street preachers who plague Belfast city centre have covered themselves in glory again with Colin Houston trying to start a physical fight and threatening to kill someone for countering them.
This all caught on camera by @bbbfire.bsky.social who stood his ground regardless.

Reform's calculation is why _not_ lie, when a largely complicit media propagandizes on their behalf, when the rewards for lying in public office are enormous, and when the penalties are essentially nonexistent.
NEW: Reform UK’s flagship council, Kent, has been accused of telling a “blatant lie” after its claim of nearly £40m in savings on net zero were found to be based on hypothetical projects for which there was no documentation.
