We’ve been introducing our oldest to the Simpsons, and it is delightful and fun. But also, it’s so funny to see them recognize certain things spouse and I have been saying around the house are from the Simpsons.

The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

This was not a surprise to anyone who followed me and other actual reporters who know Supreme Court procedure.
The only places it succeeded were to generate donations for Liberty Counsel and to prompt clicks through ragebait headlines from your favorite resistance grifters.
Sorry, it's true.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court DENIES former county clerk Kim Davis's request for the justices to take up her longshot bid to overturn 2015's Obergefell v. Hodges marriage equality decision. No justice even writes about the request.

I can’t believe we’re back to medieval level conflicts like “local authorities deny catholic prisoners the Eucharist, bishop arrives, Papal sanction may follow”

Isn’t there dicta about accepting a pardon being an acceptance of guilt?

So @edmarkey.bsky.social is up for re-election, and he’s trying to convince people he is not too old for a fight. Well, now he has a chance to prove it’s
This is the message of a failed, feckless, and leaderless party. We need a party with backbone, and the only path to it is through a cleansing primary season. If your Dem is up for reelection, and you aren't damn sure they're fighting the fascists with everything they've got, primary the bastard.

Go volunteer for a progressive launching a “hopeless” campaign against an extremely entrenched incumbent currently squatting in a safe Blue seat. The worst thing that happens, is that you drag the incumbent to the Left. Best case? Zohran Mamdani, who was polling at 6% in January.

The model of holding individual senators responsible is broken here. The retirees clearly agreed to take the fall. Which is why the nos should get no credit for voting no unless they move to oust Schumer

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week
Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

This is where I remind everyone that @kirstengillibrand.bsky.social is the chair of the @dscc.bsky.social for the midterms, and it is totally reasonable to meet her know how fundraising is going to go if @schumer.senate.gov and @durbin.senate.gov are still in leadership

It appears that the Senate has lived up to my expectations of the Senate. But I'm voting no on this bill once it gets to the House. Cutting Americans healthcare and locking in assaults on Congress' power of the purse ain't gonna happen with my consent.
I don't know what the Senate is going to do. But if they do in fact fold in exchange for nothing, they will be living up to past performance. To expect the Senate to carry out the will of the American people is to misunderstand why it was created in the first place.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.
Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.

Any Democratic senator, at any moment, could've derailed this by calling for Schumer's replacement and casting their colleagues as MAGA collaborators, thereby shifting the Overton window. But they're all in on it. This was always a team effort.
