I reported a few months ago that in August Microsoft had only 8 million active paying users of Microsoft 365 Copilot. So tired of his company! Wow you’re gonna have 220 million paying subscribers, crazy, are you going to conjure a genie too? How about a dragon? Fantastical bullshit

ALSO ME: I wonder if there is a way that I could relax that would be more productive

I was told asking people to wear masks was the most intolerable tyranny. But militarizing cities to use the U.S. military against American civilians "with full force," and saying our cities should be "training grounds" for the U.S. Military. All good, huh? www.axios.com/2025/09/30/t...
Trump offers "dangerous" U.S. cities as military "training grounds"
He told military leaders "we have to handle" the so-called "enemy from within."

i really want us, collectively, to understand that chat format LLMs cannot assess their own behavior. if you ask it what it did, it will construct a likely response to your query and that is all.

"why did you do this" is projection. even accusing them of "lying" is projection.

MBA-brain is real.

I can't tell if it's because I'm too NYC focused but does it feel like the news cycle spent more time crashing out on the fact that NYC picked a brown Muslim dude as is primary candidate then it did on a right wing extremist who shot 2 Minnesota legislators killing one, her husband and dog?

again the problem is functional markets require competent and skilled federal government oversight, but that runs in stark contrast to the interests of corrupt oligarchs, consolidated industry, and libertarian delusion, so instead you get this sort of bizarre theater (propped up by lazy journalists)

It is really really sinking in for me the degree to which LLMs are the ultimate expression of right wing anti-intellectualism. Its proponents are literally mocking the idea that anyone would ever want to learn anything, know anything, develop any actual skill, or have a thought of their own.

Liberals fear that if people act unruly, Trump will be able to impose totalitarian control.

That gets things backwards. Trump is already imposing totalitarian control. That's what is driving people into the streets.

It's too late to avoid this fight.

We can be passive and lose—or give it our all.
It's Safer in the Front
Faced with intensifying repression and state violence, there is an understandable inclination to seek safety by avoiding confrontation. But this is not always the most effective strategy.
