this was a business discovery to us! we wondered for ages why our subscriber base wasn't matching broader games media reading patterns; when we asked around, turns out loads of europeans simply don't like using credit cards.

hopefully this is an improvement!
Good morning Europe! We have a new website! If you don't like using credit cards (and many EU readers have told us they don't), we're finally accepting other payment methods for subs, like Google Pay, Apple Pay and Link:

a not-fun thing about five writers owning their own company is that when one of them has to build a new website and move a whole business over, which takes months, they can't blog anymore. there are simply less blogs.

im SO EXCITED to get back to blogs now.
There's plenty more to show and talk about in the days and weeks to come, but for now, thanks for sticking with us while we got the new site up and running, thanks for all your support since we launched, and we look forward to bringing you many more years of bullshit-free coverage in the future.

The thing that gets me about ARC’s use of fully generated barks, as well as in The Finals, is that the juice is absolutely not worth the squeeze in a game that is unquestionably high effort. Like it sounds bad because there isn’t a human performance to ground it.
For Arc Raiders to ride the wave of human sociability all the way to the bank, while also being so contemptuous of the thing that makes us social animals in its own workflow demonstrates a lack of artistic integrity that I find impossible to ignore.

WE HAVE A NEW WEBSITE

This has consumed around 4 months of my life. We've rebuilt the business from the ground-up. New site, new backend, new customer experience, new platform, new everything.

we spent two years flailing, having no idea how to run a business. now...we have more of an idea.
Despite the ravages of age and an internet steeped in misinformation, your eyes – in this one case – do not deceive you: Website different. It’s taken an immense amount of time and effort, but welcome to Aftermath version 2.0:

Morgan Rogers is the latest #AVFC to sign a new contract. As reported in July, Villa outlined intentions to offer another contract to elevate him among the highest earners in the squad. 12 month extension so new deal runs until 2031.

Years ago, I had 50 limited-edition 11"x17" art prints made to raise money that we were desperately in need of at the time.
I sold 7.

I found the other 43 and put them on eBay because I desperately need to pay some more bills. :(

$50, ships internationally!

(i had a whole folder of these ready to go at the Old Job, there are few greater gifts on this earth than living to see the deaths of your enemies)
pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

weird take, but this is long-term good, you're never going to affect real change with the existing party, you need stuff like this to happen (and for people to revolt against it) so you can tear it down to the studs and start over.
Donald Trump’s approval rating has tanked and Republican suffered heavy losses in last week’s elections. There’s never been a better time for Senate Democrats to cave on the ACA extension.
