this country, man
November 13, 2025 at 12:13 PM
this is the overriding consensus in this country and i fucking hate it. hybrids are needlessly complex, expensive to service and have been busted lying about their fuel consumption.

thedriven.io/2025/07/31/h...

we need to stop driving cars that burn fuel. half-measures aren't good enough.

just opening up the new Epstein docs at random:

so much of people's frustrations across the planet can be traced back to this. people used to face consequences! now we get to know about MORE CRIMES THAN EVER, and everybody in power just wiggles out of them in plain sight, and having to watch it every day is draining our life force away.
The Epstein story gets a something that is tearing at the heart of the electorate: elite impunity. The idea that wealthy and powerful people can do terrible things *at scale* and face no consequences for them. Whatever political party actually stops it could rule the country for a generation.

i spoke to LOADS of people about this very recently, and the only people using it regularly were the dipshits in charge

hard not to feel like we (whoever is left in games media) waged a battle for a decade we could never win
Hard not to connect yesterday's Media Watch stuff to more games media job losses.

Sad fact: these fuckups are inevitable when there is no way for people to cover video games ethically and pay the rent.

We exist in an ecosystem built to sell us shit with zero oversight. It's all by design. Borked.

Dwarf Fortress players are also creating their own lore reasons for why this bug was patched out.
But what if the Dwarf Fortress babies WANT to worship extra deities?

if everyone's dunking on people for the movies they've watched i want to share with americans a classic in the genre:
Michael Owen has 'only watched eight films ever'
That's right, we know the former striker loves horses, but did you know he hates films?

this was a business discovery to us! we wondered for ages why our subscriber base wasn't matching broader games media reading patterns; when we asked around, turns out loads of europeans simply don't like using credit cards.

hopefully this is an improvement!
Good morning Europe! We have a new website! If you don't like using credit cards (and many EU readers have told us they don't), we're finally accepting other payment methods for subs, like Google Pay, Apple Pay and Link:
