Jimmy Fallon: "And do you use ChatGPT when raising your baby?"

Sam Altman: "I cannot imagine figuring out how to raise a newborn without ChatGPT."

Every ai booster believes that college is about doing homework. They think there’s a homework goblin that pays the colleges for their homework. Their dream is that they can have a machine that you can pay $75,000 to and receive a college degree from in four years.

Actual play: 👉 J.Hurts up the middle to PHI 29 for no gain (D.Barnes).

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

I knew that Mamdani had it; he had the people and did the work, and has been the clearest and most lucid in rejecting the untenable current state of things. But the vile, bigoted shit against him was so constant, and I am conditioned to that working better than I want. This feels like an exorcism.

"Mayfield didn’t play well against the Eagles. Tampa Bay may have won the game easily if it had gotten a steadier performance from the quarterback."

Maybe we should correctly frame this as the Eagles' Defense played well???? Attribute credit don't just apportion blame.

I don't play fantasy because I can't remove the dissonance in my brain between rooting at cross purposes between player and team outcomes, but what's interesting is that fantasy football is also the only one where MY experience as a non-fantasy player is demonstrably worse due to its existence.
one of my unpopular fantasy opinions, as someone who plays in a four-sport dynasty superleague, is that fantasy football is the worst fantasy sport

absurd random variance, highest chance by far of “fuck you, your season is over” injuries, no interesting category balancing… it’s bad, actually
i quit fantasy football after my highest pick got seriously injured early in the season two years in a row

a little bit of randomness can make a game exciting, but i cannot enjoy something with THAT much randomness dragged out into a miserable months-long experience

Every person who says "of course there are some uses for LLMs" should be forced to immediately list what those uses are, taking into account that:

a) they cannot be accurate and there is no way to make them accurate

b) they have been repeatedly shown to make users dumber and worse at their jobs

"Ivan replied that code is either correct or incorrect; there’s no subjective determination of whether it’s high or low."

That's crazy! Of course there's good code! Maintaining good notes, consistent structures and variables, someone else being able to edit or review with little previous insight.
I also revisited the “learn to code” movement of the 2010s, and why that may have been misguided—especially now that AI is doing the coding for us.

I'd love it if you read the full feature here!! www.wired.com/story/why-di...
Why Did a $10 Billion Startup Let Me Vibe-Code for Them—and Why Did I Love It?
I spent two days at Notion and saw an industry in upheaval. I also shipped some actual code.
