"In his more lucid moments, Donald Trump is being shown slop AI videos by his viziers" just seems more and more like the Occam's Razor explanation for this.
Trump: "Construction jobs are way up, right? Well, they're up because they're building all these factories all over the country. You have car plants under construction. I spoke to Mr. Toyota in Japan. I said, 'What's you name?' 'Toy-ota!' I said, 'If your name is Toyota you're a very rich guy.'"

Wow amazing. I wasn't planning on voting for Jack Schlossberg, because I'm not in the district. But now I'm trying to figure out a way to vote against him twice

I am going to do a crime if people keep saying "polls say" without outlining poll construction (which influences outcome more than whatever underlying construct the poll is purporting to measure) and the fact that polling hypotheticals and reactions to actual events are barely correlated

polls on things like voter ID are useless because it "sounds like" a good idea if there are "no problems or bad actors" so people go "sure okay" but there are _always problems and bad actors_.
Pew Research Center poll: 83% of U.S. adults say they support "requiring all voters to show government-issued photo identification to vote."

That includes 71% of Democrats.

Among those who favor this idea:
—76% of black Americans
—82% of Hispanics

Do they favor it if the person on the other side of the table says their ID is fake, like ICE/CBP is doing?

malinowski is a very boring dem and it's insane that AIPAC went super all-in against him suddenly because he said something very very mild about israel. it rules that it blew up in their face to this degree, honestly.
BIG NEWS FROM NJ-11: former Rep. Tom Malinowski concedes, congratulates Analilia Mejia on a positive and well-run campaign, blames AIPAC for his loss, and promises to vigorously oppose anyone AIPAC backs against Mejia in June

i have already been asked the why does god let evil exist question by my K & 2nd grade kids, thank you catholic school but i think it's too early for thomas aquinas and soren kierkegaard. they never asked me anything about or thought it was weird that their grandpa was married to another man though.
always so funny to me when people are like “how am I supposed to explain Gay to my kids?” my kid asks me way harder shit all the time. “why did they build the road this way? why are some people bad?” I don’t know. please ask me about Gay

I thought about why I’ve been pushing back on stolen midterm fears. What’s the harm of worry, even if it doesn’t materialize?

It’s this. The regime has less capacity than it’d like, and tries to make up the difference with bluster. If people act as if it’s true, that grants the regime more power.
don't carry maga's water for them. don't try to work out how there's some secret loophole in the constitution that magically ends democracy. there isn't. that's the whole fucking point you fucking dopes

Everyone celebrating or encouraging athletes in men’s sports for coming out post-Heated Rivalry need to understand the context the show exists in. This soccer ref went viral for proposing to his fiancé on the pitch & then they were assaulted in their home after receiving threats.

A reminder: there is not a single housing market in America—not one city, state, or county—where someone relying on SSI can afford a one-bedroom apartment.

Deaths like these are always preceded by engineered abandonment. Disproportionate homelessness among people with disabilities is no accident.
High rents outpace federal disability payments, leaving many homeless
Supplemental Security Income, a federal program meant to be a financial floor for people unable to work, hasn't kept pace with inflation. Many recipients are homeless, unable to save for an apartment.
