A good call with Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen of Denmark today.

Greenland’s future is for Greenland and Denmark alone to decide. We reaffirmed our commitment to sovereignty and territorial integrity and discussed our ongoing work to strengthen Arctic security.

REASONS COBRA IS PREFERABLE TO YOUR CURRENT GOVERNMENT:

- WE DO NOT TEAR GAS RIOTERS. WE SIMPLY TOSS YOU IN THE BATTLE ARENA.

- EVERYBODY GETS THE SAME HEALTHCARE PLAN: FIGHTING IN THE BATTLE ARENA FOR WHO GETS TREATED.

- OUR SECRET ISLANDS CONTAIN ONLY ANCIENT TEMPLES & BATTLE ARENAS.

Years of covering the business have taught me that “investors” and executives are thick skulled, irrational, impulsive children.

I cannot emphasize enough how comprehensive their stupidity is, but their cultlike devotion to regurgitative AI really helps get the point across.

The far right's smartest people are deeply ignorant.

Here's Curtis Yarvin showing he knows nothing about the history of civil disobedience.

Henry David Thoreau invented the term in 1849, to describe practices that had existed long before that.

read online that someone set-up a premium rate phone number where callers get charged $3.99/ min. then they posted flyers in their neighborhood that said "call this number to report illegal aliens," but the number just puts them on hold with music. so far, they've made $17,000

As an aside to the above note, just today I saw some dudes still seethingly furious about something I wrote in 2012, on how being a straight white dude in the US is the Lowest Difficulty Setting in the game of life. That's longevity in writing for you!

I over-cooked the bacon for brunch a bit, which wouldn't be such a problem had my range hood suddenly decide not to work anymore *and* were my windows not frozen shut.

I'm hoping the smoke alarm doesn't sound; I'm still in PJs.

Shortly after I read a short story written in *1940* premised on the invention of something very much like photovoltaic cells being opposed by Big Oil... until the patent holder made it public domain.

Yeah, I too assumed the logic of capex vs. opex for PV was obvious... I literally grew up with it.

Back in the '80s I read a novel, written in 1977, pointing out how solar power could radically improve energy generation in the US. One character complained about lack of investment in it, saying (to Johnny Carson no less) that it's "raining soup" but we refuse to make any bowls to catch it.

There's also that project in California to put PV panels over irrigation canals, which in addition to providing electricity also reduces evaporation losses of the water. I'm sure there are plenty of other efficiencies to be had with cheap PV. www.universityofcalifornia.edu/news/solar-p...
Solar-panel-covered canals have their day in the sun in California
California’s first solar-over-canal project goes online with the commissioning of the narrow and wide span arrays in the Turlock Irrigation District, bringing to life the ultimate “why didn’t I think ...

And just to further put a point on it, this is very explicitly the point of militant nonviolent protest.

To demonstrate incontrovertibly to even the low info news consumer that agents of the oppressor are engaging in an entirely one-sided brutality against the vulnerable
So believe me I understand this is deeply frustrating and unfair, but a march that does everything right and still gets tear gassed is a successful march that is winning.

A lot of the strategy of protest is luring the authorities into engaging in obviously, transparently unjust uses of force.
It's hard to overstate how ell-organized the portland march that got gassed was... organizers made the crowd promise to be peaceful, said the march would slow in front of the ICE building but not stop, that we would stick to one chant (ICE Out). They did absolutely everything right and got gassed.

Bullies hate a fight, which is why they must be given one.
ICE/CBP want to terrify people into submission and compliance so that they can operate with impunity, unimpeded, in semi-secrecy. It is not working. In every urban center these masked goons descend upon, the local community is rallying in solidarity.
