Also, can European government social media PR PLEASE LEAVE X.
Will X being the platform for AI csam finally be the thing that gets people who should have quit it 2 years to leave. At a certain point (now), if you are a public figure hanging on there, you’re endorsing all of this.

Anyone else in AoNZ get this through their letterbox?
Sketchy detail on the website and not-quite-right AI imagery abounds. Mention of a "movement" in child control sounds creepy.

A search of "Tania Operation Bedtime" brings up a LinkedIn account but my account is long defunct so I can't see it.

Precisely what climate action is being funded here?
#TrainNews: A train to Tauranga from Hamilton is a step closer following a grant of $25,000 from the climate action fund to bring Glenbrook Vintage Railway’s carriages to town for a pilot service.

Mamdani: I have been told that this is the occasion to reset expectations, that I should use this opportunity to encourage the people of New York to ask for little and expect even less. I will do no such thing. The only expectation I seek to reset is that of small expectations.

For the price of less than ONE of National's Roads of National Party Significance you could expand the cycle network right across the motu, returning benefits easily 10x (so $12.8b) of what we have now (which is already formidable at $1.28b).

And more than RoNS will EVER return to Aotearoa 🚲 👇
So cycling tourism particularly in the South Island is worth $1.28b to our national economy. And it will only expand.

NOW IMAGINE boosting cycle tourism even further into our big cities!
Exploring Auckland by e bike would be quite scenic given its very diverse geography!

Today on Volts: you've probably heard that Australia has cheap rooftop solar power. You've probably also heard some rumors & myths about it. (Is it destabilizing the grid?) I called my favorite Australian energy expert to clear it all up. This is a fun one!

This is the NZ system. Get a corrupt bunch of lobbyists turned politicians, some voter data harvesting tech and propaganda creators and hijack a democracy... NZ is fast losing all protections to just being completely gutted of land, water and mineral rights...
I keep thinking our systems were designed to rely on good faith actors, and on a Congressional majority that cared about its own powers and prerogatives.

Will this AI Kill Switch be so mighty as to lay low all the AIs of the Earth?
Something that hasn't been made clear: Firefox will have an option to completely disable all AI features.

We've been calling it the AI kill switch internally. I'm sure it'll ship with a less murderous name, but that's how seriously and absolutely we're taking this.
