#BusNews: Nelson City Council shared progress photos of the new Nelson Bus Hub at Millers Acre.

The concrete base for the hub has been poured and the outline of the kerbing has been installed and showing the layout of the future bus hub.

Halifax St has also been re-ashphalted.

#RailNews: The Canterbury Railway Society has shared images of the Ferrymead Railway's new Sidings.

The sidings are near complete and have had their first train over them.

Teams have also been installing new floor boards in the F Van.

#LocomotiveNews: Smith Crane's has showcased which crane they have used to move the new KiwiRail DM locomotives that arrived at Lyttleton Port.

Crews used a Demag Terex AC350-6 (350t) mobile crane to lift the 108t locomotives off their truck and onto the tracks.

#FerryNews: Fullers360 Te Kotuku’s main engines have been installed by the crew at McMullen and Wing.

Work is continuing on completing alignment, exhaust systems and fuel connections, with cleaning and paint repairs ongoing.

Te Kotuku is scheduled to be launched this week.

#TicketingNews: Metro Canterbury has shared an image from the launch of Motu Move, showcasing what appears to be the Motu Move mascot.

They also showcased a staff member who had been out at the depots activating the Motu Move validators.

#StationNews: The NZ Transport Agency has opened tenders for the upgrade and signalisation of the SH22 and Jesmond Road intersection.

These upgrade works will tie into access for Ngākōroa Station when it opens.

#TicketingNews: Motu Move has launched on all Metro buses and ferries across Greater Christchurch (Christchurch, Selwyn and Waimakariri) on Monday morning.

Passengers can now pay a standard Metro fare using contactless debit/credit cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay and Metro cards.

#CableCarNews: Wellington Cable Car's Car 2 has received freshly painted gold pin-stripes and the number 2.

The previous gold pin-stripes and number 2 were removed during repainting, following works to rebuild the car during the 2025 extended maintenance period.

#StationNews: KiwiRail has shared progress photos of the construction at Drury and Paerātā stations.

At Drury, stairs, under-track pipelines, & barriers for the pedestrian bridge barriers have been installed, with work on the shelters & carpentry on the overbridge underway.

#FerryNews: McMullen and Wing have announced that Auckland Transport's new electric ferry AT2 (Te Waiarohia) is now ready for launch.

The launch has been delayed until fast-charge testing has been completed on AT1 (Te Komiti).

The new planned launch date for AT2 is early 2026.

#BusNews: Auckland Transport opened consultation on increasing the number of bookable spaces at Albany's Southern Park and Ride from 5% to 10% of total capacity.

AT will also look to introduce bookable spaces at the Northern Park and Ride, if the southern site is regularly full.

#RailNews: Youth Art has painted their latest trackside mural at Henderson Train Station.

KiwiRail have shared photos of the new mural, which is inspired by the natural world, especially the Kauri tree and Tōtara branch.

#StationNews: Crews are installing the train station passenger shelters at Drury & Paerātā stations.

They are Auckland Transport's mid-size bus shelters. These shelter designs were shown in the station renders.

#RailNews: Minister of Transport Chris Bishop has announced that $94.2 million will be invested in maintenance and renewals in the Wellington metro rail network and $49.4 million will be invested in upgrades across the Auckland metro rail network.

#RailNews: Weka Pass Railway has now completed most of the work to re-lay Herberts Crossing.

The track was lifted after becoming muddy from clay runoff from a nearby hill and has been replaced with fresh ballast and sleepers.

Crews will soon tamp (lift and align) the track.

#BusNews: Metro is advising of upcoming service disruptions on November 7, due to a driver union meeting.

IMPACTED ROUTES:
1, 5, 7, 27, 44, 60, 80, 95, 97, 100, 107, 120, 125, 130, 135, 820 and the Orbiter.

Some trips may end at the city bus interchange from around 9.10 am.

The exhibition will showcase memorabilia, photos, old uniforms, oral histories and objects.

#BusNews: On November 4, the Ōamaru community shuttle began service.

The shuttle will operate between Ōamaru and Palmerston on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Trips leave Ōamaru at 9.30 am and return to Ōamaru from the Bus Hub at 6 pm.

#RailNews: KiwiRail crews have installed 1 of 2 new level crossings on the Kingston Branch Line to support the planned Kingston Village subdivision.

The branch line is no longer owned by KiwiRail, but the line is still active with heritage steam train The Kingston Flyer.

#FerryNews: NZ Transit Buzz understands the Aratere (now named Vega) is set to depart from Centre Port on November 15 at around 9:00 am.

Once Vega leaves NZ waters it will set sail toward India where it has been sold for scrap.
