“In the confusion, lying preachers will come forward and deceive a lot of people.

For many others, the overwhelming spread of evil will do them in—nothing left of their love but a mound of ashes.”

For the followers of Jesus, it’s never:

“MY NATION FIRST!”

It’s, “How can I love God and my neighbours first?”

Only then can we begin to deny ourselves, take up our crosses, and follow Jesus.

Abolish ICE completely, top to bottom.

Let nothing of that organization remain.

And hold everyone involved accountable for their evil.

This message is antichrist.

It’s the way of the Empire, and not the way of Jesus.

To support ICE is to deny Jesus and work against His Kingsom.

For clarity:

What ICE is doing is blatantly illegal in the United States & they are breaking laws—not because they’re protecting people, but because they are criminals.

Just like their leaders.
There is clearly nothing ethical, just, nor lawful about what ICE is doing.

This has nothing to do with national security or public safety.

Let’s not pretend otherwise.

Abolish ICE & hold everyone involved accountable for this evil.

It’s ok to hold Christian leaders to the high standard we claim.

Not having an 8-year affair (or any kind of affair) doesn’t make me or other pastors special—it just means we’re doing what a normal married person is expected to do.

We should expect far more than the bare minimum from pastors.

“Love your enemies” is the instruction of a parent desperately trying to tell His children how to stop getting into the same mess day after day, century after century.

It’s the better way to live.

“Love your enemies” is not just some difficult commandment Jesus gave us to prove how fallen our hearts are and how we are unable to live up to such a standard.

It’s not a command only for Jesus himself to follow, while the rest of us are exempt.

Good morning, beloved.

Know justice. Know peace.

Today is a great day to overcome evil with good.

Things that are detestable to God:

• haughty 👀

• a lying 👅

• 🙌 that shed innocent 🩸

• a ♥️ that devises wicked schemes

• 🦶 that are quick to rush into evil

• a false witness who pours out lies

• & a person who stirs up conflict in the community

Let us also pray for all who mourn,

that they may cast their care on God,

& know the consolation of his love.

The one thing you can say about Franklin Graham is that he has been an incredibly consistent public figure.

Spouting his racism, bigotry, and hatred (with a few Bible verses thrown in) is nothing new—it’s who he’s always been.

That’s the fruit of his life.

Some Philip Yancey thoughts and nuance…

His “confession” of his 8 year affair upset me more than I expected.

I’m hardly a Yancey stan, but it just feels like this is another disappointment on top of a large pile of disappointments.
Well, I’ll be removing any Yancey books from the church library tomorrow.

When our library committee has a chance to look things over we’ll throw his books out—just like we do for any abusers.

This happens so very often.

It would be heartbreaking if it weren’t so unsurprising.

ICE murders again.

And they will murder again in the future.

Abolish ICE.

ICE is antichrist.

The Beatitudes are
a radical manifesto
of a kingdom way of life
because Jesus reveals
who is in
and who is not.
