I wonder what happens if Elon has to focus on providing value to his shareholders only?
He knows exactly what he did. Down to the numbers.

More and more Americans are voicing their outrage at the tactics being deployed by federal agents in Minnesota. But it’s important to understand the broader implications of what this administration is doing, and the threat it poses to the basic freedoms of every American.

OK but I need to do quality control on my quality control
I paid my therapist a zillion dollars to tell me this, so I’m passing it on to anyone else in MN who needs to hear it:

Think of taking time away to recharge not as not doing the work, but as doing quality control for the work. You’re not going to be able to show up to do it well if you’re depleted

Funny that the right's preferred propaganda for Trump's second term has been a perverted Norman Rockwellian vision of mid-century America, but Minnesota really said "Fuck that, we'll build our own Mayberry with racial and cultural diversity based on communal care and compassion."
By the time this is over, I might be able to just let Talmage spend his summer wandering around the neighborhood all day secure in the knowledge that I know all my neighbors and that they will come protect him if he’s in danger.

I cannot emphasize enough how important it is that we get rid of Miller. His race war fantasies have informed the vision behind the federal assaults on US cities, as I discussed here.
My latest: How Renee Good's murder and paramilitary assaults on US cities reflect longstanding right-wing race war fantasies and Stephen Miller's fixation with a novel about white genocide. I also talk about the stories we tell and live in opposition to these narratives and share a must-reads list.
Choosing Each Other in a Time of Terror
Rather than being disbanded or intimidated by Good’s murder, the people of Minneapolis have been galvanized, escalating their resistance and refusing to retreat from the work of protecting one another...

We still don't know the names of the ICE agents who killed Gonzàlez behind the wheel of his car outside Chicago in September.

They were unmasked in this BWC footage from Franklin Park police.

If you have any information at all about these men—please text us on Signal at unraveled.66

Photos of eagles, commodores, birds of all sorts, small animals, sounds in the dark.

People I’ve never met, never loved dont need anything. They’re spirit or gone and are a blessing or not.

My loved dead deserve that I remember them but not every hour. They all deserve the peace of rest.
if you were building some sort of altar-like place/installation where you were going to include small pictures of people we’ve collectively lost even if you never knew them personally, who would you include?

Most people care that about victims only so that their peace and calm can return. People luv to say how much they care about victims. Yet, also luv to do nothing helpful. All those with such care should be handed mirrors and a card for a therapist accepting patients, or yarn for a new hobby.
You don’t need to respond to the last post with a “joke” about Noem getting “promoted” to secure kids for sex trafficking because I mentioned reporting that’s existed for over a month about people close to the admin wanting her out anyway. Y’all don’t care about victims. Auto-blocking that garbage.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

And also, we are going to have to sit down and have an honest discussion about and with those people later on when we put the fire out (I am Minnesotan)

People want the progress but they don't want to deal with the the truth and reconciliation part and, well, here we are again
statistically speaking (and based off the articles) it is a near certainty that thousands of people currently patrolling the streets in Minnesota are people who did not immediately believe the warnings of the left 10 years ago. I see very little criticism of *them* on here
Bluesky idea: if people who didn't agree with you change their opinions so that they do agree with you, why not be happy that you are making progress - rather than complaining that they are "only just catching up"?

We need to shut it down. Anyone who supports funding DHS and ICE is an accomplice to the murder of Americans.

This is about right and wrong, and murder is just plain wrong.

No funding for DHS. No funding for ICE. We can stop this.

stop using AI to do your research. it hallucinates too often. if you want an answer to something, post something arrogant on the appropriate subreddit. something like: "this item performs 10% better than everything else. only idiots deny this." this will bait nerds into doing your research for you.
