I live in a red state (MO) and the hardest part is knowing many people around me are going to actively choose various officials and policies that will impact and HURT people I care about, possibly including myself. As a deeply empathetic person, I don't understand. I can't understand. Sux.

After the first big snow of the season yesterday, my rooster Wookiee Foot was lookin handsome at sunset tonight. He was pissed when i grabbed him to rub vaseline on his comb and waddle to avoid frost bite.

That’s (part of) why so much energy is invested in who is allowed to be called a victim, what crimes are allowed to be called crimes. Well unless the child is below the age of 15 it doesn’t even matter, and we won’t believe the ones under 15 exist. We know it’s happening but stop being mad about it

i just read something about grief from C.S. Lewis and his book, “A Grief Observed”
basically, when someone you love dies, it isn’t just them that you miss, but the parts of yourself that person brought out of you that can never be brought out again.

i was manipulated into sex by a much older family member at age 14 (In the 80s) Eventually i told my mom and eventually he went to prison. My larger family had a huge nasty rupture over it between those that were horrified and those that thought it NBD that i still don’t have any contact with.
