Private plaintiffs a bigger % of #consumer enforcement in US than EU (entrepreneurial lawyers are the American Way!) but I haven't seen any reliable apples to apples data comparing govt enforcement of consumer rights in US v EU. I wonder if substantive law differences loom larger than procedural

Thanks for using the word "insight" to describe something I said!

It's elaborated here bsky.app/profile/prof...

Energized for a new semester of teaching the resurgent subject of #bankruptcy and coaching the University of Kansas School of Law bankruptcy moot court team in the Shapero and #Duberstein competitions.

Yes, the world is largely governed by strength but much US strength comes from embodying, albeit imperfectly, freedom, democracy & prosperity all of which attract allies who make the whole greater than the sum of the parts

What are you even talking about! I am saying it is a delusional fantasy to suggest Russia is going to invade European countries like Poland, Germany or indeed the UK, which is the insane drivel currently being promoted in support of a disastrous arms race.

Nope. Doomer nostalgia about a fake past in which "all families were single earners & they all owned homes!" is the reactionary sentiment. Telling the truth is always better for the left.

Good idea! I signed. I hope in the next few years for a program on judicial selection and retention.
