#unmooring
and all of the real sorrow I feel seeing so many excellent journalists lose their jobs and the resources to do really excellent reporting that is very necessary right now; despite the dire consequences of our unmooring from a commonly accepted truth, I do see a sliver of light coming from all this

Tonight, Nick Nurse faces his easiest challenge yet: unmooring Dominick Barlow from Andre Drummond to give the team a chance at a well-spaced floor.

"There have been times when, after an arrest, I feel vast and bottomless; only an equally enormous, steaming plate of pasta and a brownie sundae can create the necessary sense of grounding after the unmooring experience of being in jail"

Just the baseline stuff you need in place for your life to function, innit? Unmooring.

That's wonderful! Not having that feeling of safety can be so unmooring! I am glad she found it again!

(Agreed! My parents' deaths were so unmooring, and from growing up in the States death was this unthinkable, alien situation. But our community knew exactly what to do. Death wasn't scary or mysterious, and us being in grief wasn't worrisome or uncomfortable.)

Unmooring and enraging. Fuck all of these people.

As cynical as I am, it’s still been pretty unmooring to realize the degree to which their social reality does actually determine our material reality.
every epstein file drop underscores how elite power operates through shared socio-economic networks, regardless of people's ideological differences, populist posturing, or public feuds

It just seems like an unmooring of the usual rules of politics, you know?

I’m sure you all can relate, but the dance these people do in your mind. Yikes.

It was unmooring to feel I was watched by her, and possibly even more unmooring when I wasn’t

Worshippers of destruction of truth, endless unmooring. Listening only to their own chosen delusions, denial of all else. #HostisHumaniGeneris

Seeing clearly can feel like unmooring because identity adjusts to perception. What part of self is stretched when reality sharpens?

Why Clarity Feels Like Loss - Dualistic Unity
An exploration of why clarity often feels like grief or loss, and how the quiet mourning that follows insight is a natural part of identity loosening rather than a failure or regression.

got hit really hard with this last night - I don’t like how it makes me feel to have what’s pretty much a core belief of my life all of a sudden come into question. Realizing that some people are just truly irredeemable, and that there are so so many of them, it’s just completely unmooring.

I'd posit that the unmooring of our collective reality really began when algorithms inverted the traditional informaiton ecosystem. An a/b tested feed guarenteed to suck up each individual's attention was pushed to them and re-enforced existing nostalgia or fears or whatnot

So many levels of supremacist domination here. One of the more grim lenses in media theory: control, unmooring from reality, reduction of possible visions, dehumanizing, and aestheticization of politics. Win win propaganda. You think it's real, you are tricked. Fake, you lose trust.

Following #unmooring, even putting a full #demand on the fleet's warp engines, it would still take a #week to get there. New Eden was an unspoiled planet completely consumed by and bursting with #nature. But once we humans arrived, we would soon change all that.

Carol’s colleagues released a balloon for her retirement, a symbolic “ #unmooring” from work. It’s been snagged on a tree ever since.

Now a bird flies off with it. “Time to move on?” says Ian.

It squawks at a passer-by.
Carol narrows her eyes.

Something about that walk... #vss365

Been in alcohol withdrawal before. Rough. But this... the morphine...
Heat, cold, fear, pain, sadness, rage...
Complete unmooring... Missing GPS coordinates... Dark out now...
I'm gonna puke.

I am giving myself grace and permission to be a little more annoying on here as a result of the recent unmooring of my daily routine. Among other things. I did kind of honestly think for the longest time “the more people hear fron me the less they will like me” but maybe that is not the case!
