Also known as Disaster Beetles in our house, due to their habit of careering around at random, bumping into walls, making a noise like an outboard motor, getting stuck and generally being hopeless at being an adult insect.
My four favourite facts about the cockchafer beetle:

1. It's called a cockchafer beetle.
2. It’s also sometimes known as a “billywitch”.
3. It’s unusually loud and clumsy by beetle standards and bangs into lots of things when it flies into your house by mistake.
4. It looks like this, close up.

Here, I completely redid the roof. Those are 240w panels. So theoretical best 720w (IIRC 600w measured on a nice sunny UK day).

Idea is to run a 3kw 24v outboard. But need to try and get bathroom fitted for it this year, and pray I get the outboard bracket fitted:

🟪2025 vs 🟩2026

KEY DIFFERENCES 👇
-HUGE central inlet (~3× ERS power → far higher cooling needs)
-Radical front suspension rethink: much flatter upper wishbone and switch from PULL-rod to PUSH-rod
-TINY front wingspan (+ active aero actuator)
-Far more complex endplate and outboard section

for a long time i was obsessed with using outboard everything. but in the past few years i have done almost everything in the box. there are merits to both approaches, and i still feel a hybrid setup would be best, but for now i am fully in the DAW

So, this is apparently #PortfolioDay. Much to the chagrin of (seemingly) many, I've been creating art work since the 1970's, and photographs of Men since the 1990s and other subjects since the 1980s. Some of it is actually Safe for Work.😏https://jonitron.myportfolio.com/work

“In a world where cartels move loads measured in the tons, Vigil asks, does anyone really think it was wise to use a fleet to sink a flotilla of boats powered by outboard motors?”

“And also that photo is generous. I couldn’t find any good photos of how high the bullet was in the windshield so I was conservative with my estimate. In reality what that photo shows is the line that the officer is on the outboard side of.”

Sadly, although this gentleman looks ready to celebrate with the world's biggest party balloon, he is actually holding a pilot high altitude balloon. These were sent up daily by a Cambridge expedition to Northwest Greenland and the Canadian Arctic as part of their meteorological experiments.

Christ that must be some outboard the Icelanders have? Sailing for warmer climes, maybe just for the winter? Or to get some food.

That's why a stop for refuelling makes perfect sense as is common op on other narco areas. Three outboard motors get very thirsty with such a load of "fish".
