Was privileged to contribute to two physical media releases in 2025 -- an essay for a @vinsyn.bsky.social partner label release of THE WAIT, and a fun co-commentary on BLACK SHEEP for @umbrellaent.bsky.social -- with a third project pushed to next year.

I would like to do more in 2026!

Underrated F13 sequel!
The exchange of "fuck you" looks just before Tina ignites Jason in THE NEW BLOOD is another one of my all-time favorite moments from the franchise.

At a certain point you have to wonder if being ass deep in Epstein was an actual job requirement to be part of this administration.

A good read from a great person... and I'm not just saying that because Amelia also has the good taste to love the new Verbinski.
I've shared tidbits when I could, but here's the full story. Thank you for your patience and support through the absolute dumpster fire that has been the last month. I'm out of jokes, so please imagine this ends with something whimsical.

I'm not even sure where to begin. I suppose the best place is with a "thank you" to the kind supporters with slack access who not only chose to continue their subscriptions, but have been supportive ...

Gentle reminder. He didn't die after a battle or from losing battle. He had cancer & died. Normalize just celebrating someone's life & honoring them without feeling the need to "qualify" someone's life/death, because even if it's unintentional, you're implying they must not have "fought" hard enough

GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN, DON'T DIE hits theaters tomorrow! Go see it this weekend (bc it probably won't last long)!
Oh, I love this. Some of you cool cats are gonna knock its satirical blend of the silly and serious, but GOOD LUCK HAVE FUN DON'T DIE is a terrifically entertaining romp. Messy in all the right ways, very funny, surprising even as it riffs on some familiar ideas. Definitely gonna bomb in theaters.

I'm no genius, but if there was massive voter fraud by Dems and their immigrant collaborators, wouldn't the Dems be in control of... something? Presidency, Senate, House, Supreme Court? Republicans won it all.

(Rhetorical, as I know claims of cheating are bs at best and guilty admissions at worst.)

In a world filled with daily horrors, this somehow feels even worse.
“Four of my children just evaporated,” Badran said, holding back tears. “I looked for them a million times. Not a piece was left. Where did they go?”

There are no words to adequately describe the evil here.
Israel used weapons in Gaza that made thousands of Palestinians evaporate
US-made thermal weapons burning at 3,500C caused 2,842 people to "evaporate" in Gaza, Al Jazeera investigation finds.

Look, I love Stephen King and I love Mike Flanagan but we don't need remakes of CARRIE or THE MIST. We need new stuff. REVIVAL. FROM A BUCK 8. JOYLAND. FAIRY TALE. BILLY SUMMERS. THE TALISMAN. EYES OF THE DRAGON. King's the most prolific author of our times. Adapt something else!
Mike Flanagan will bring Stephen King's THE MIST back to the screen with a brand new movie for Warner Bros.

Flanagan will write & direct the new adaptation of King's tale, which was previously turned into a 2007 movie and a one-season TV series in 2017.

Finally watched the big halftime show -- I'm nothing if not eternally out of sync with major pop culture events -- and while Bad Bunny's music does nothing for me, it's impossible not to appreciate the production, intentions, and themes of it all.

There's plenty to criticize Democrats for, and I do it here all the time. But criticizing them for telling people they have to vote is so counterproductive it borders on malevolent. If in 2026, you don't get how important it is, you are as much a part of the problem as anyone you're angry at.

Someday, long after it has stopped mattering, we'll discover how much of this money was siphoned straight into the Trump family coffers.
ICE’s pending $30 billion budget exceeds the military spending of nearly every country, including Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and Iran.

ICE + CBP funding for 2026 would total $66 billion, higher than all but 7 militaries worldwide.
After a string of ICE murders, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries proposed reforms — and $11 billion more for ICE.

Including reconciliation bill funding, the Schumer-Jeffries plan would give ICE a $30 billion budget, higher than all but 15 militaries worldwide:

Ebert hated THREE O'CLOCK HIGH. And THE FRIGHTENERS.

And I'll take any opportunity to talk about Siskel & Ebert's mistreatment of THE HITCHER...
Film critic Roger Ebert was one of the best to ever do it, but every now and then he'd hate a movie that was actually pretty darn good. Here are 10 examples.
