Elon Musk is a "genius" allegedly.

Yet he doesn't understand basic thermodynamics. It's common knowledge that a vacuum is an insulator. That's how vacuum flasks keep your drinks either hot or cold.

Elon Musk is not a very serious or intelligent man. He is rich and powerful though. Which is bad.
This would have been a good point for someone to have asked, is that really how things work? Or is vacuum in fact an excellent insulator? www.ft.com/content/a5cf...

I'll have a bump or two of whatever Elon's on, thank you.....
Elon Musk told employees at xAI, his artificial intelligence company, on Tuesday that the company needed a factory on the moon to build A.I. satellites and a massive catapult to launch them into space.

Join me, a software guy, for a ‘very much hands on’ hardware video as I refurb an old external Gotek drive for my Amiga A500, ‘Big Red’.

Trust me, it’s quite the journey, and has scenes of manual labour. 😱😅

GNU Terry Pratchett.

We love this distinctly Pratchett quote, as featured in #TheLittleBookofHumanism.

'I'd rather be a rising ape than a falling angle.'

Terry Pratchett – author and humanist.

Actually, they approached the Bangor Students Union, not the University, who told them they were not welcome.

Threatening the University to put pressure on the independent Students Union is very undemocratic and reeks of authoritarianism and the suppression of free speech.
Reform UK approached Bangor University to ask whether Sarah Pochin (Reform MP) could come to debate. They said no, and this is the response they get

Reform would behave exactly as Donald Trump. Don't agree with them, and they will penalise, threaten, defund, and cancel you. They are proto fascists.
February 11, 2026 at 10:58 AM
I've had 3 copies of the same canvassing letter from Reform this week. Not the dodgy one (only got one of that one) but the "regular" one. They clearly have money to burn/time to waste posting all this crap out.

Reform politicians are happy to throw insults from a distance.

But when it comes to debating their ideas? No show.

Richard Tice pulled out.
Farage won’t face me.
Now their candidate in Gorton & Denton has ducked our candidate Hannah Spencer.

Vote Green.

I do wonder how some people manage to navigate life when their brains are filled with such utter drivel. Conspiracy theories, pseudoscience, refusal to accept facts.... I just can't imagine it at all.
February 11, 2026 at 10:17 AM
Fuck me.... Just seen a guy ranting about how he can't #votegreen as they "hate" him for driving a car.... and that the fumes produced by cars is "alleged pollution".... fucking FBPE wingnut.

Serial Experiments Lain is a cautionary, deeply political story about how cool the Sharp X68000 looked, and what would happen if computers kept looking like that.

Rainy morning, so of course the bus is almost 20 minutes behind schedule. Which is a bit of an issue for a once an hour service.

I'll be honest. I said to one of my mates, if United were to lose any of the games in February that it would be West Ham.

Looking like I might be sadly right.
