Yeah. I wouldn't have had the Mega Drive library I had back then had it not been for a strong "preowned" scene. (There was shop near me where you could trade a Mega Drive game for one of the same price at a cost of £2.50, or you paid the difference for a more expensive title).

Streets Of Rage 2 is all about getting into a "zone". I'm absolutely terrible at most games (I'm dyspraxic so my Hand/Eye coordination is terrible), but SOR2 is the 1 game I can go back to time and time again and beat. Hell, back when I was a teenager, I could 1 credit it on the hardest difficulty.

It did, but I'd say that was the "price of progress", and in terms of the technology and developing it, a good thing.

Thank you! The original Sonic was a good game, and for a "first try" it knocked it out of the park. But Sonic 2 just took everything they learned, took onboard feedback from the reviews and improved on everything. For my money, Sonic 2 on the MD is still the peak of the 2D Sonic titles.

New systems felt so much more exciting back then. I think it's because each new generation gave us a visible, tangible leap forward over the previous one, rather than the incremental gains we see these days.

They'll double down. Despite all the hate for the Game Key Cards from sane people, it's a Pokemon title, so wills tills ell loads of copies and that will justify the use of the GKC to Nintendo.

I would say Streeting is the shit that someone did in the swimming pool that causes everyone to panic and evacuate the pool, but he's more than that. He's the kid that did the shit, and is sat there poolside being all "Look at what I did! Aren't I clever"....

Ooof.

I did expect something like this to happen. There are an ego or 2 involved that just don't seem to want to share any spotlight (or credit) at all.

They don't even need to do that. They are hung up on there having to be a "lore" behind the character. There doesn't. There literally wasn't any "lore" that made any kind of sense until the Daniel Craig films. Casino Royale hit the "reset" button for Bond. The new film just has to do the same.

Yeah, he was really laying on the "I lost my job, I'm poor, why are you so mean for wanting me to ask permission" very thickly.

it wasn't in English (which I'm assuming most of the originals he ripped off were), that he would get away with it, and then probably (certainly) reprint it and make some more money.

I just translated your exchange with the guy behind this. He doesn't come across well. He didn't do it for profit, but he did it because he was made redundant and needed the money... so which is it? It was "too difficult" to ask permission from the original artists? Realistically, he thought as /1

I've said for years only licensed pyrotechnicians should be able to buy fireworks and set them off. They are literally explosive devices, and used incorrectly can (and do) main & kill people.
