I don’t understand people don’t consider that they simply look bluntly at ’there is wealth here’ then do something illegal thinking they’ll figure it out later. When something is complicated most of these people won’t see it. They break things, harm, kill so other dumdums will marvel at their power.

A good example of what I'm talking about (and I'm generally a Buttigieg fan). None of this is correct. It's nonsense because the real criticisms (eg "this degrades America's longterm ability to conduct effective foreign policy") are harder to message to dumdums.
It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.
The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.
