#Postmenopausal
Postmenopausal bleeding is a big 🚩 for cancer.

untrue.
Newsom vetoed a continuing ed requirement for doctors that stipulated one course (for credit) on perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopausal care.

Yeah, he's ensuring doctors remain poorly educated about women's bodies for years into the future.

pretty f'n bad imo.

Despite consistent preclinical evidence supporting the role of #FSH in promoting adipogenesis & impairing metabolic regulation, & suggesting that FSH signalling blockade might confer metabolic benefits, clinical findings in postmenopausal women remain inconclusive www.thelancet.com/journals/lan....

If we subscribe to this binary, wouldn't this mean that pre-pubescent boys aren't male, and postmenopausal women not female?

And once we harden ourselves against being overtly emotional, we're ice queens. It's a no-win situation.

I still recall how a woman interviewed after the 2016 election said she couldn't vote for postmenopausal Hillary Clinton because she might become too emotional during her hormonal mood swings.

Excited to share our work on the metabolic ecology of the urobiome of postmenopausal women associated w/ recurrent UTI using quantitative metabolomics. We find a unique UPEC-urine metabolite interaction network, UTI diagnostic lipids, and DCA as rUTI prognostic marker. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Bathroom cabinets need to be about 8 times the size they are. I have two bathrooms and between them, they don't have enough storage space for all the shit this postmenopausal body needs, daily, in order to keep it barely functional and (at a glance) resembling a human.

I'm getting with the kids, and dropping my periods

4/In 1991, the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) tested MHT in 27,000+ postmenopausal women to prevent chronic disease. They saw no heart benefit, but did observe higher stroke & breast cancer risk, as well as lower colorectal cancer & osteoporosis. The study stopped early as risks outweighed benefits

Science is objective, you said? Screenshot from R.A. Wilson & T.A. Wilson, ‘The Fate of the Nontreated Postmenopausal Woman: A Plea for the Maintenance of Adequate Estrogen from Puberty to the Grave’, Journal of the American Geriatrics Society 11, no. 4 (1963): 347–62, doi.org/10.1111/j.15....

Has anyone else who's postmenopausal realized that their capacity for bullshit has diminished significantly?

Is this a thing?

He also apparently told Nuzzi he wanted her to have his baby, which is a shitty thing for a postmenopausal woman to find out her husband said to his young lover. And it's also shitty of Nuzzi to repeat, since it's potentially very humiliating/hurtful to Hines, who's (seemingly) done nothing to her.
Imagine being Cheryl Hines and waking up today to dozens of text messages from friends linking to the NYT profile on Nuzzi where she admits RFK said "I love you" first after you just went on The View and covered for him lmao

And then there's us postmenopausal women. Whose evil remains bottled up inside us all the rest of our lives! 😱
Yes. I am evil incarnate. Save yourself! Stay very very far away from me. Don't even look at me. 😈

I waited for menopause…only to learn I had missed it. When my doctor mentioned something about postmenopausal symptoms, I did a double-take. Wait- what? And then it hit me…

⚠️ #BreastCancer doesn’t always come with warning signs.
This means awareness & early diagnosis are critical for everyone, regardless of lifestyle!
Know the signs (lump, skin changes, nipple discharge) & get screened.

The clinical trials were conducted in postmenopausal women (and it's common for hot flashes to continue for some time after menopause). But neither the FDA approval nor the mechanism of action preclude prescribing it during perimenopause.

I rolled out the other side of menopause two years ago. I plan to be a postmenopausal menace - as in FUCK FASCISM-menace - untill my very last breath.
Every minute that menopausal women don’t burn down the house and block is a minute you should be grateful for, so this is indeed a powerful potential force, IF it weren’t also confounded by fatigue and brain fog

There seem to be benefits from walking with weighted vests, but it doesn't necessarily mean you need one if you're perimenopausal or postmenopausal.
What’s the deal with weighted vests?
