#Fifties
Thanks for posting this. I have faint memories of going there as a young child when my family lived in Agincourt in the late Fifties and early Sixties.

Actually none of the handful of all-male forties-and-fifties group chats I'm in have the second type at the moment. Unless it's me, which is a distinct possibility of course...

Looks great! I struggle with eyes, too, especially now that I’m in my fifties. Vision not as sharp and hands not as steady as they used to be.

We are a couple in our mid fifties. We are enjoying Starfleet Academy very much.
We also enjoyed the Nickelodeon cartoon Prodigy series, which really was a kids show.
Maybe, don’t pigeon hole everyone in an age group? I truly don’t care to opine on what you are interested in or not interested in.

Ron Hubbard actually did a speech in the early fifties saying that if you really wanted to become rich, you should start a religion. And he did.

I’ve never been enormously worried about mortality, but I’m very uncomfortable about the idea of getting weaker, ill or fragile. Still, I’m with you, seeing people popping off from heart attacks or aneurisms in their early fifties is a bit weird.

I'm in my fifties and I created this thing called "Decrypting Rita" :)

Finding out that Otis Redding was only 26 when he died shook me to my core. He was singing like he was in fifties!

4/ The idea that in middle age I'd be anything other than have my wife do everything for me was never even on the radar of my schooling.

Now, I find myself in my fifties living alone, cooking for myself, doing all my own housework, and single.

And like Carol Vorderman, I'm loving this situation.

3/ really.

I was brought up for a world where the fifties housewife wasn't just a reality - it was mandatory. I'd bring home the money, and she'd bring up the babies.

I was brought up & taught in school to expect a world that absolutely dated, misogynist, patriachial bullshit.

My uncle lived in rural Oklahoma in the fifties. He didn’t have indoor plumbing. A great aunt lived in rural Kentucky. She didn‘t have indoor plumbing or electricity in the sixties. I was so young I didn’t even think much about it.

When I was a teenager I could pull the occassional all nighter and be okay.

In my fifties now, if I go to bed after 10pm and I’m homicidal the next day.

trump's petty and bigoted administration remove the slavery exhibit from a national park in Philadelphia. These mofos really want to take us back to the fifties.

According to my kids it's, "my age"
They started when I was in my late fifties. I'm sixty now.
Personally I reckon I have at least five more years 🤣

In my teens, I simultaneously discovered contemporary Denis and Fifties Denis through It’ll Be Alright … and my dad’s tapes of Take It From Here, yet weirdly I already knew who Frank Muir was. Presumably from some kind of Call My Bluff osmosis.
