Fun fact: in the 1960s, Civil Rights protestors were given literal classes on nonviolent protest; they didn't all just spontaneously know what to do.

So, if you're planning on showing up, this weekend: read this comic. And if you're staying home, signal-boost it/link it around.
I did my best to compile as many protest safety notes as possible into a one page foldout zine! Coincidentally…it seems the file has breached containment…like it’s available for anyone to print or hand out 👀⚖️

just your regular reminder that the Republicans in Congress could stop this at any time
Donald Trump is an aspiring despot intent on destroying American democracy. The people with the power—and the constitutional obligation—to stop him are the Republicans in Congress. Their failure to act is a constitutional crisis and a stain on their legacy that will never be removed.

Reminder that words matter. You can’t “deport” a US citizen. You might be kidnapping, disappearing, exiling, expelling, illegally removing, etc., but you’re not “deporting” a US citizen.

Beker Rengifo is in the US as part of the CHNV humanitarian parole program—the one Trump tried to axe but was recently kept afloat thanks to a judicial ruling.

He has a drivers license. He has legal status. And CBP still handed him to ICE.

This is what I'm saying; he's talking about trafficking in humans the way Amazon traffics wares, and the goal is slave trade. This is not a euphemism or an exaggeration. He is describing a "deportation" process for removing people en masse without due process to be shipped to labor prisons.
The acting director of ICE told the Border Security Expo that his dream is to make the deportation process “like (Amazon) Prime, but with human beings.”

He added, “We need to get better at treating this like a business.”

The depravity of these folks knows no bounds.

More from CT as Wesleyan University’s President Michael Roth calls for Mahmoud Khalil’s release: “Just as we should decry antisemitism and other forms of discrimination, we should insist that students and faculty have the right to make their voices heard about the issues of the day.”
Why Isn’t the Entire Country Terrified by the Arrest of Mahmoud Khalil?
Universities are running scared. But this is no time to be timid.

Please understand: conversion therapy is torture.

They teach your parents to torture you at home and at school. You are removed from your supportive social environment, forbidden to see or interact with friends or the outside world, and punished until you promise to believe lies about yourself.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court takes up a case challenging Colorado's ban on conversion therapy for minors, after having previously turned down many other similar challenges.

The law, which protects against efforts to change a minor's sexual orientation or gender identity, was upheld below.
