Wow, I apparently cleared 10,000 followers!

You've all made a terrible mistake and are going to spend too much on obscure games!

I am terribly sorry, but relieved to see others suffering from my curse.

I also have a Steam curator page, and accept tips (which helps me find games). Details below:

Repeating that Peril is VERY cool. Amazing sense of scale and adventure, constantly switching tones.

My only real complaint is that on Normal and even Hard it can be a bit too easy. I'm no Quake god (Mazu's maps in QBJ3 obliterate me) but found Nightmare to be most comfortable for me here.
Today, I've been poking around Peril. Y'know how Quake Brutalist Jam 3 is the biggest Quake community project? Peril, mostly the work of one person, is even bigger.

A colossal time-traveling adventure campaign across some of the biggest spaces ever made in the engine.

Ha. Years ago, I got a bunch of pokemon promo booster packs in the post. But I don't play the pokemon TCG, so just put them on a storage shelf, still sealed.

I just looked up on Ebay UK how much they'd be worth and even lowballing it, they'd be worth £720+ now.

Oh, it's far worse than that. Society as a whole realized the harm - potential and direct - almost immediately.

It's just that the people that run the world decided, even as the corpses piled up, that they just didn't care and were going to bet the entire global economy on radium toothpaste.
I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

Realized I hadn't seen the third season of Mob Psycho 100. Just finished the last episode.

That was a damn good show. And I love how much they embraced the squiggly, rough-edged aesthetic of the original comic.

This screenshot is the OpenBOR scene in a nutshell. I mean, sure, why NOT have nearly 120 playable characters?

Semi-related, a funny true fact is how Victor Ireland was a devout Jehovah’s Witness and, besides adding 8th grader sex jokes and jacking up difficulty, made absolutely sure not to ever say “demon” in any Working Designs game

There’s an old Usenet post of his calling SMT “evil”

Bought and finished Creature Kitchen last night. Absolutely adorable and charming game. One of the steam reviews calls it "ominous and whimsical" which I think is perfect. Well worth the price tag if you're looking for a cute bite-sized puzzler. store.steampowered.com/app/3097300/...

Time to sleep, but one final gaming-related shoutout: That new free Rabbit & Steel expansion adds one more key element from Final Fantasy 14 that it was missing:

Impossibly hype vocal boss themes.

Game is half off until the 14th and VERY good.

My latest repack is a game called SAS: Secure Tomorrow, a tactical shooter from 2008 developed by City Interactive using Lithtech Jupiter, same engine as FEAR, almost looking like a total conversion mod.

Game was tested and it's working fine:

Genuinely good little publisher that specializes in the kind of raw, unfiltered indie stuff we used to get before the Boom made 'polish' such a focus.

Big recommendations for Picayune Dreams, Dead Estate, Schism and Magenta Horizon.

Epic made provably incorrect statements about the game’s content, refused to provide details supporting their claims, and has not shared their claimed AO IARC certificate, which normally includes a link for the developer to appeal. They do not ‘love that studio’, they have effectively ghosted us
Earlier this week, I spoke briefly Epic about Horses, a game that was approved for release on EGS, then blocked after a re-rating

"We love that studio," Epic VP Steve Allison said of Santa Ragione, but maintained that an AO rating was a dealbreaker

I've only been able to scratch the surface of it (oh god, SO MANY GAMES THIS MONTH) but can confirm that Hermit & Pig has been incredibly charming so far.

It and the console re-release of Jimmy & The Pulsating Mass are peak RPG whimsy.
