Yesterday, the Epic Games Store decided at the last minute not to distribute the game, after having previously approved a release build. HORSES is otherwise now available on GOG, Itch, and Humble for $4.99. www.horses.wtf

games, with their ability to make you any type of guy, are really good at this, honestly. I'm the furthest thing there is from a Games For Change sorta gal, but I *do* think one of the best inoculations against being an oppressor is knowing how easily you *could* be one, and games can nail that.
The problem is not that there aren't enough games about shooting nazis, the problem is that there aren't enough games about why it's important to do so.

Why censor Horses when two stylists (?) can do this and even get applauded? I find it much more disturbing.

When provocative horror game Horses was banned from sale on Steam and the Epic Game Store late last year, it nearly led to the closure of acclaimed Italian studio Santa Ragione - denied, as it was, access to some of the world's largest paying game audiences. https://bit.ly/45hWk49

HORSES was written and directed by Andrea Lucco Borlera. This is his first game, as he previously studied cinema and directed short films, and he now teaches audiovisual disciplines. Creatives who come from different disciplines seem to have a much greater sense of freedom in what games can tackle!
