Just gonna say this again for games sphere cus we get the same question:
Networking doesn't mean schmoozing up to famous people, it means making friends with your peers. Then in 10 years, 20, one of you might be famous? And sure you're still helping each other cus well yeah friends.

Talking to one of these types at a con who asked how I 'got in' with so many 'famous writers' who I'd been talking to and I said "we made friends before anyone knew who we were decades ago by striking up interesting conversations and enjoying each other's company" and he kept re-asking the question.
They have come to the convention hoping to "break in" and then find themselves -- shocker! -- a "nobody in the book world." Yeah no shit! We all are! I have gently told guys like this a million times that it takes most of us *years* of hard work but they do not believe that could be true for them. +

I think more people should play Voice of Cards
happy to kick off reminiscing on the about square enix’s b-game golden age. they did it. they made shorter games with worse graphics for less money and alas. no one bought them. was this the fault of the strategy or square enix’s non existent marketing who can say

The fact PlayStation app saved clips and Switch has a QR code for for uploading vids and photos yet online posting of games dipped 90% after Elon made it impossible to upload to Twitter proved that to me
"people can still download your art from bsky and feed it into AI" if gamer behavior has taught me anything, just one extra button press is more than enough to annoy a MASSIVE amount of people into not making the effort

The go-to Christmas media in our household was The Christmas Toy, which my mom taped off of its original airing. It has some extremely cool Muppets, but Mew the cat toy is the standout due to how he is able to convey all the emotions despite having fixed eyes and no limbs
