Self-hatred is extremely efficient. Nobody else would bother to hate us as much and as well as we hate ourselves.

This Super Bowl Sunday, I’d like to introduce you all to the magical curse bowls used in Upper Mesopotamia and Syria in late antiquity. Written in Mandaic (as here) or Syriac Aramaic, they trap demons who trespass on a household by sucking them in with spiraling spells to the center of the bowl.

Not bad. Such a touching moment at the start when Kermit was walking down the hall with the old photos.

I am trying some OTC arthritis relief gel for my right fingers, and .... I am not one to dismiss expert medical advice, but it's hard to imagine that (as the label says) some gunk I rub on my fingers can put enough drugs into the rest of my body to interact with an oral NSAID.

Dear Ma,
It's starting to feel like the frozen tundra of Southeastern PA is some kind of collective punishment for our sins. The only thing worse than being stuck inside the house is going outside. Fido loves snow, but now that we have packed-down ice instead of snow he's kinda mad. I don't know

not a little North Carolina public musicology on the timeline!
Since you’re gonna hear it over and over on TV during the Olympics: Here’s how the thrice-knighted French film composer who created “Bugler’s Dream” (bum-bum-ba-dum-bum) ended up buried behind a church in rural Yadkin County, North Carolina: www.ncrabbithole.com/p/leo-arnaud...
Why the French film composer who created The Olympic Fanfare is buried in North Carolina
Leo Arnaud had a long career as a musician in Europe and Hollywood. A blind date led him to a simpler life.

If you need a revenge novel for Black History Month, I’ve got you.
So I guess I’m gonna be one of those #booksky people who publicly discusses the books I read, but honestly I think it’s important. This month was hell and these books helped.
Especially this one by @kashana.blacksky.app We can’t all go out and get our revenge, but we can read about people to do.
