Random musings & smartass remarks. Neurolurker. Dilettante. He/him/his. Interested in (but not necessarily posting about) (or even doing) higher ed, IT, infosec, cocktails, music, old movies, bicycling, & other stuff I don't have room for.
I have cut back from 8-10/week to 3-4/week and I am still stunned every time I see this chart.

Meanwhile, my late 20s son is a weed connoisseur who almost never drinks.

We're still figuring ours out but I made some breaded pork chops that came out really good.

a) I never knew that was his full name

b) I am starting 1 day per week of work-from-home on an indefinite basis, in deference to the hellish construction on my commute.

Nice! We bought an LG tv and a dvd player with surround sound in 2008. (Which replaced a 20” Magnavox crt my in-laws gave us for Christmas in 1988.) The TV is gone and the dvd function is extremely flaky, but the surround sound still works great & I have it plugged in to my current blu ray player.

That reminds me of a shop that sold artisanal vinegars and oils… when we poked our head in, they had samples of a balsamic vinegar spritzer. (We did try it, but we’re not inspired to buy any.)

One time I accidentally left the headphones plugged in and I Mrs. D called me when she couldn't get any sound from the TV and I had to talk her through unplugging the headphone cord.

OK, so my TV doesn't have a way to mute the sound w/o MUTE staying up on the screen. And I like to play DVDs through a surround sound receiver, which does not go through the TV. The best way I've found to mute the TV sound is to plug in headphones to the TV & turn the volume down to 1.
