I am going to re-up this a third time:

Please read this excellent piece by Lincoln Caplan about why John Roberts—more than Mitch McConnell, more than Stephen Miller or Russell Vought, more than anyone else—owns the destruction of Constitutional order.

Re-upping:

Excellent assessment of John "Roger Taney" Roberts.

it's incredible to think that the entire trump family is just dogshit people. you'd think thered be at least one accidental black sheep who miraculously developed something akin to empathy but nah. they're all chittering insectoid people

Trump and people like Rubio who enabled him fundamentally thought that the world that wasn't on TV wasn't real, and we're all going to rue living through their education on that point.

There is not one person on God's green earth that can point to a single time they have ever been inconvenienced or harmed by pronouns or land acknowledgements. It's an endless conveyor belt of stuff they've seen online and have chosen to get upset about because they don't know how to not be upset.
Elissa Slotkin told Tim Alberta why her response to Trump's joint address did not touch on a laundry list of priorities from various advocacy groups.

I still see an implicit hope/belief online that the scales will fall from the eyes of Trump supporters as things get worse. This article makes clear that as long as the power grabs and retribution are wrapped in anti-woke, anti-DEI, anti-Biden language, then his followers will look the other way.
Most Trump supporters were in favor of his efforts to scale back the federal workforce, to stand by controversial Cabinet nominees and to slash foreign aid.

“I trust him. Is he going to do everything right in the next four years? Probably not,” said one supporter.

It's great because you can quote Trump verbatim to people and watch their eyes glaze over and do the "doesn't look like anything to me" bit from Westworld.
Words that come out of Trump's mouth are not what he really thinks about you. Words posted by some Twitter account with three advanced degrees in the bio are secretly what Joe Biden thinks about you.
