It is to exhaust your critical thinking, to annihilate truth.”

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

What's especially telling about this tweet is that they haven't read Frankenstein.

"Electricty! Magnetism!"

The book never explains how he brought the monster to life. It's just "I have figured out how to bring life! No, I won't tell you how - I don't want this mistake repeated. Anyway, MONSTER."
Meanwhile, on twitter, did you know that Mary Shelley never could have written Frankenstein (which is about magnets as you know) because her boyfriend was really into magnets?

In fact, when you think about it, that's why women in general don't write great literature (chicks aren't into magnets).

It's kind of yelling at a cloud to say this about a nearly five-year-old Youtube video, but it kinda sucks that like 54 million views' worth of people are going to get their understanding of Prohibition in America from Oversimplified's video, when it's a beat-for-beat rehash of the Ken Burns film.

Miyazaki: in this movie two young girls (one is a toddler) are uprooted from everything they know to start new lives near the rural hospital their mother is in; she is possibly dying of TB. Their dad works several hours away and they are largely unsupervised.

AI Bros: so homey! So comfy!
every ai bro who has reduced miyazaki to empty gentle aesthetic should no exaggeration get the judas cradle bc this man's markmaking & passion about telling WAR STORIES

Terrarium might actually be the quickest I've smash-cut from "we're so back" to "it's so over" in Star Trek history. I have a pretty high tolerance for "Hey guys, remember this? You love this!" fanservice, but making it LITERALLY the Metrons all over again? This is Bad Prequel Pitfalls 101 stuff.

Big sigh. Watch this.

Can you see why the Yankees’ moment of silence, the lowered flags, the promise of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, feel like a gut punch to the very people he spent years targeting?

No one wished death on this man, but what we’re seeing right now is too f*cking much.

I still think the Justice League episode Maid of Honor is a glorious example of flooding the zone to get shit past standards and practices. They get some serious innuendoes in, and I think the only reason why is they had S&P working overtime to claw back the homoeroticism (unsuccessfully, thank God)

I'd just like to point out how weird it is that places with hundreds or even thousands of reporters — the NYT, WaPo, CBS, NBC, AP, etc. — are all getting pummeled on every major story by the dozen computerboys at Wired. To fumble the bag this consistently is, at some point, cowardice and a choice.
