They’re telling you…

That prices are down, while all your bills are going up.

That tariffs don’t raise prices, but now they’re lowering tariffs for some items in order to…wait for it…reduce prices.

That they don’t have money for SNAP or healthcare, while they send $40B to Argentina.

🧵I spent 10 hours reading through the latest Epstein files that the Oversight Committee released.

One thing that stands out in it all is that Epstein was a huge threat to Trump throughout Trump's first term.

A huge threat.

Trump is mentioned in almost every email, every single one.

According to the email from Mark Epstein to his brother Jeff,

Putin has a picture of TACO giving oral sex to another man. The email implies Bill Clinton, but it really doesn’t matter who it is.

That’s a kind of Kompromat that would render ANYONE ineligible to hold a security clearance.

Editing is hard, and most of us aren’t good at accepting honest criticism.

Even the best authors find it incredibly difficult to edit ones own work, doubly so if they just wrote.

A lot of people have to physically get up and come back to reset their brain.

A good editor is like gold.
Editors have a really hard job, and the good ones can make something unreadable readable, and the great ones can make something unreadable into something good. But they're basically invisible, until someone tries to write without one.

New: this app lets ICE track vehicles and owners across the country. ICE uses phone to scan license plates, add to a database of billions of records. Thomson Reuters then enriches that with marriage, voter, other info. Can predict where a car will be in the future

“Short bursts indicate an ICE sighting. Long whistles indicate agents making arrests. If you hear the whistle and you’re undocumented, said [Whitney Hu, a community activist and organizer with South Brooklyn Mutual Aid], ‘you hide. And if you’re somebody who’s not, you go to the street.’”
As ICE Street Raids Ramp Up, New Yorkers Stock Up On Whistles
Taking a cue from Chicago, community groups have distributed thousands of whistles in recent weeks — a grassroots system people in other cities have adopted to help neighbors sound the alarm.

i'd say it did. the public put a group of thieves, vandals and extremists in office last november and they promptly went about destroying everything that might work to limit their ability to loot, steal and inflicting pain on the people they hate
This whole NYT account about the weaponization of DOJ is beyond disturbing. Kinda feels like the US government fell in January.

“Better than nothing” systems are no substitute for actual healthcare.

I bought an old school Roor off her in like 2010, back when I was actually theodor Von bong hits Adorno.
I'm not going to read the NYT story but I do want to hear what other people would put in their "Lost New York" takes, mine would include Dr Zizmor ads and the free transfer between the Broadway G/Lorimer JMZ stops
