Vote with your wallet. Send the message that this is simply unacceptable. And I hope the German government rakes them over the coals for taking 6M Euros from a cultural fund and then using AI localization.

It’s one Eff You after another to players and now cultural institutions.

a big runoff last night, in New Orleans:

Calvin Duncan was exonerated after spending *28 years* in prison; he tried to get his own case records from the New Orleans city clerk—but the office dragged its feet.

So Duncan ran to become city clerk himself, and yesterday ousted the incumbent.

Duncan, a political newcomer and former prisoner, defeated incumbent Darren Lombard by a wide margin in Saturday's runoff.

tbh don’t know any women with advanced degrees or high achievements in my generation who didn’t suffer through shit like this
The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.

Megan Aldrich, 33, was shocked to discover that, despite a long history of debunked headlines, Snopes-worthy urban legends and baseless moral panics, confirmation bias is still alive and well in people who really should know better.
Autistic woman just assumed everyone was consuming media critically
An autistic woman has made the foolish and illogical assumption that other people consume media critically instead of taking everything at face value, it has been claimed. Megan Aldrich, 33, was…

Anyway, stream Pluribus, if you’ve been through some shit it is one of those rare experiences where you see something and it feels like it’s seeing you too
It feels like everyone is talking about Pluribus in terms of individualism and AI. I’ve only seen the first two episodes (spoilers in thread) but I was genuinely floored by what an accurate portrayal it is of what grief feels like. I’ve never seen any media nail the FEELING of grief so perfectly.

if the enemy of my enemy is MTG that means i still have two enemies that i hope end each other somehow
The enemy of your enemy is not always your friend. MTG’s beef with Trump is over his betrayal of the “America First” movement and that he is, contrary to what she had believed, part of the “global elite.” She is a dyed-in-the-wool antisemite; what’s coming after Trump on the GOP side is very scary.

BUT we’ve pivoted too far in the opposite direction. It makes my stomach churn to see queer (usually white, but not always) trans people latch onto “Ghost” or whatever and humanize him in extensive fanfics. It’s bizarre. There is no redeeming COD/mil-sims and we need to say so as artists.

Up until this AI shit I would’ve said hey sometimes you have to make money in a shit system and gotta take the job, but at this point, why aren’t we organizing against this? It sucks that Christian fundies have forever hampered the convo around these games by framing them as “creating IRL violence”,

Please read this in the gentlest possible voice but we HAVE to divest from mil-sims as gamedevs. Even before this AI bullshit in the latest Black Ops, these games have done so much harm and contributed massively to the dehumanization of several populations worldwide. It’s US foreign pol propaganda.

I'm supposed to come up with three "personal development" goals for my annual review

1: Quit my job to raise angora rabbits in order to spin their wool into yarn and snuggle with them all the time

2: Forget that Teams ever existed

Still working on a third.

every few years it's revealed that the NYT was sitting on information about some horrific thing that public knowledge of would have changed the country's course and for some reason a ton of people still give them money. you can play those games on other sites

I’ll never stop being confused that people are surprised I take things they say seriously, & then share receipts that prove them wrong. Suddenly “It’s not that serious” when people want to lie without being corrected.

No one keeps receipts like an autistic person. Please learn this & save us time!
