What's extraordinarily frustrating is how many people are like Wall Stencil and simply refuse to believe the extent that very real poverty and economic insecurity exists in the United States

Saying that 60% of the country is not living in misery is in no way denying the existence of poverty and economic insecurity.
Like some things probably shouldn’t break academic containment maybe because idiots are just going to let it second option bias them into believing something way more inaccurate than the Disney version of history, which is at least mostly accurate, just not detailed.

i’ve kinda become a little elitist about this, because it’s an example of a thing you see a lot where stupid people take a pretty nuanced/detailed critique of the conventional Sunday school version of history, & flatten it until they have something *way* more wrong than the default narrative
This is a ridiculous oversimplification that centers American history and ignores that Nazis were Germans, tied to a literature in German, talking to other German speaking people and were not primarily concerned with the United States. Yes, they liked Jim Crow and 'Manifest Destiny'

You’re not entitled to cheap and quickly delivered gourmet food. Restaurants have never been designed like that outside of Pizza & Chinese food for this reason.
Price gouging has nothing to do with this, you let yourself get gaslit into thinking it was an entitlement in an era of cheap credit.
sorry not to restart the burrito taxi discourse but it’s genuinely funny that we’re being openly fucked sideways by the worst price-gouging & wealth inequality ever, and some of you are like “well if you didn’t want to get fucked sideways why didn’t you make a burrito at home and drink tap water?”

There’s real economic problems and you trying to go viral complaining that luxury doordash for every meal is too expensive isn’t a serious economic problem. You are not entitled to luxury consumption funded with cheap labor.

Getting price gouged by a company that loses $550 million a year while infamously underpaying its workforce is like losing chess to a dog
As someone who occasionally drives for DoorDash as a side gig, yes, I am absolutely judging you if you're ordering a bottle of water at a 400% mark up instead of drinking tap water at home, particularly because most of you don't tip.

implying that knowing how to cook and make a budget is anti resistance is incredible. this is one of the most confidently dumbass things i've ever seen anyone say, and it's like round 6 of the burrito taxi discourse so that is truly groundbreaking

Nathan J Robinson's magazine printed this absolute tripe about the Matthew Shepard case, a case so drenched in homophobia that one could not conceive of one element of it, from the selection of the victim to the thought they could get away with it, without it. A case where a -defense- was gay panic
