You wouldn't let a Pennsylvanian Post, Would you?

Reading City Councilman, District 4
What's funny is Larry Bird would be far more offended for not portraying him as a Georgian instead of the Hick from French Lick, than making him Black.

Democrats need to embrace this. DOGE and Republican crippling of the administrative state and entitlements germinates from the seed of “Government at every level doesn’t do anything anyways”.

A station wagon qualifies as a sedan. It’s the same as a truck where you’ve bought the latch on lid.
Like, an actual station wagon, not the SUV crossover shit that passes for a station wagon in the US these days
January 6, 2026 at 5:03 PM
Crossovers shouldn't exist.

You either buy a minivan or a sedan. No Half measures.

Same goes for SUVs. Buy a truck or buy a minivan. You don't get to split the baby like King Solomon.
This place needs some Innocuous Discourse pronto. Quote this with a take that’s not political or aggressive

Frankly one of the first Zohran hires I find troubling.

Pretty much everyone involved in Bernie 2020 should've been kept out at pasture, as with the Biden 2024 folks.
Confirming NYT reporting that Bernie Sanders 2020 alums Anna Bahr and Joe Calvello are Mayor Mamdani's comms director and press secretary, respectively.

Per sources, Mamdani was also considering ex-Bill de Blasio spox Bill Neidhardt for press sec. www.nydailynews.com/2026/01/05/m...

The folks who post like this on here or Twitter should have this flash on their phone every five minutes until they take a photo of themselves in a park.

The money I would pay to be assigned as co-counsel to watch Elon be handed this during the deposition.

Democrats are going to learn one important lesson from 2024.

No viable constituencies care about foreign policy for more than 48 hours if Americans arent dying.

But they’ll cut off their own face if their take home pay goes down.
Chris Murphy: "At some level he's winning tonight because clearly part of his intent here was to distract the American people -- you and I -- from what's happening here at home. You have 20 million families who are getting massive increases in their healthcare premiums. People will die."

This administration is so incompetent. They had Florida right there but instead they picked the prestige venue with the highest risk of acquittal.
the thing is that what they want for Maduro is a show trial and the venue they are trying that in doesn't do show trials
Remember these people fucked up the prosecution on sandwich guy. I am somewhat cynical they're gonna manage this!

You can’t do a silent count every other play.
there’s one Montana State fan yelling PUT A FINGER IN HIS ASS every two plays or so

Social media has taught me these people aren’t serious. If you get involved in real politics you learn that acting like this gets you nowhere.

Hence why the wheels came off of Bernie 2020 when it came time in February to build a coalition of the alsorans and his team laughed at this idea.
One thing that I’ve discovered is that there’s a kind of leftist that believes anyone who contradicts what they say should be first against the wall for slighting their ideology and it’s made me better understand how revolutions end up like that once in power

The problem with Schumer is he’s 100% right and frankly has done a decent job as leader of the opposition but he’s such a pisspoor messenger to the public be comes off as inept and neutered for the times.
Schumer: "Republicans must -- if there was ever a time, they must step up to the plate. This is the time. And if they don't, they're gonna feel the heat from their constituents."
January 5, 2026 at 8:25 PM
Outside of the filibuster the minority party has basically no power in Congress. It’s not really built to. Elections are supposed to have consequences.
if you want the Senate to do something, Senate Republicans must do something.

People are dunking on this but I'm not really sure what plays Schumer has other than to try to peel off Rs.
Schumer: "Republicans must -- if there was ever a time, they must step up to the plate. This is the time. And if they don't, they're gonna feel the heat from their constituents."

It’s been rewarded with likes, adoration, and sometimes money in the form of podcasting/Patreon.

And it’s way easier to post than actually hit the ground and build a Coalition.
I don’t want to call out this specific poster because this is a broader thing I’ve seen before, and IMO it’s absurd. Feel however you like about capitalism, it’s not the reason for writer’s block or artists feeling stagnant.

It’s absolutely okay to be tired of the fight and pass the torch on.

Frankly you used to get that more often in politics in America. You’d coach up the next Gen and stand behind them beaming with pride on their rise.

This pic 1000% related.

Lowkey credit to Poland who has that dawg in them and is up to 5% of GDP on defense. Absolutely not fucking around.
Really the take from the last few years is that if the Europeans wanted to kowtow towards a rapidly democratic backsliding state with that dawg in it that would actually protect them from Russia instead of throwing them to the wolves they should have let Turkey into the EU.

Dude has a poster of himself up on his wall, what a fucking loser.
GOP Rep. Pat Harrigan: "There are members of Congress that they just cannot trust. And I understand that. We have folks that are Somali first and not America first."

For all its faults, the actual United States Military is a well oiled machine that executes operations well.

The problem is, and has been, for the past 70 years is our inability to nation build. We keep trying to do it (Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.) and it always fails.
I think one of the underrated dangers is that Russia was - on its terms - quite successful militarily under Putin under 2022, and that convinced them they could pull off what turned out to be a disaster. Similarly the relative 'success' of operations in Iran and Venezuela emboldens the U.S.
The last few years have shown us that Russia does war wrong at basically every conceivable level and yet they are now the model the current SecDef is inspired by.

You have a Cuban NeoCon at State, an unqualified and impotent doofus at Defense, and a President who been flagging and flailing since August looking for something to save his lame duck Presidency.

They all had reasons to do this.
one of the dumbest parts of this is the idea that oil producers actually want their holdings in venezeula back, which they do not. it’s a war for oil no one really wants.
January 4, 2026 at 12:16 AM
And not that it matters, but it’s not even the good oil!

It’s the bunker shit that needs a fuck ton of processing. It’s not light sweet crude.
as the initial shock and outrage settles in to a sort of humming rage you can start to appreciate how shambolic this thing is. fentanyl declared a wmd, indictment for cocaine and guns, command center monitoring twitter, trump saying we're occupying somehow remotely(?) and paying for it with oil
