It’s this and also even for all the garbage that we buy that isn’t needed without any plans to replace the jobs of the people who work for those companies… we’re fucked.
I've encountered a few people arguing that tariffs are good, actually, because they will force us to consume less and while I think our consumer culture is problematic in many ways, I don't think things such as 'food' and 'medical supplies' fall under the category of unnecessary purchases.

Observations from this article on "tech" chat groups: 1) they are 100% male, 2) they are texting all day, 3) they seem to have little other work to do, 4) these are investors, not true 'techies', 4) the author of the article seems not to realize himself how airless and homogeneous these groups are.

the contrast between the journalists at 60 minutes who are risking their careers for their independence and the white house correspondents chuckling at nerdprom about how they helped trump get elected is pretty jarring and infuriating

Jihaad Campbell: 2-year starter. 6-3, 235. Off-ball LB. Had a great combine (ran 4.52 - elite speed and broad jump). Led Alabama in tackles, TFLs, sacks, and forced fumbles last year, per Dane Brugler.
Did not think Eagles would go off-ball LB, but fun player!
