Boy Mamdani's race is really a vivid reminder that anti-Islamic bigotry is 100% accepted in US public discourse. People don't even bother dog whistling, it's just right out in the open.

Vibes seem great with the Sixers!

Special education isn't a "nice thing to have." It isn't "charity" or doing something to make us feel better. It is a right. The right to a Free Appropriate Public Education is codified in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, signed by a Republican president.

The debate around what is or isn’t “cancel culture” really just obscures a simple truth that it’s BAD to be massively racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic and it’s GOOD to speak out against injustice. Some things are good and some things are bad and it’s okay to say which you think are which.

it's a hobby horse of mine that consumer-facing tech, particularly apps, are pretty bad and getting worse over time- the spotify feature where it'll make you a playlist at a certain BPM doesn't actually work at all. rounding to the nearest 10 BPM, *ONE* of these is 180bpm. a bunch aren't even close

I'm increasingly becoming a luddite about many things, but especially cars. It's actually insane that we've accepted a world where every new car sold has a big tablet in the driver's view. It's one of the most baffling things about the modern world, actually.

Reports begin to emerge regarding the inhumane conditions under which people are being detained at the Florida Everglades concentration camp.

• One meal per day
• No showers
• Maggot-infested food
• Lights on 24/7

These are known torture tactics.

Many detainees are legal residents.
