If Marjorie Taylor Greene wants to prove her sincerity, she should sit for a deposition with House Judiciary Committee Democratic staff and testify as to her involvement in the January 6th Insurrection, including the meeting that took place at the Willard Hotel on the evening of January 5, 2021.

Higgins was the lone "no" in the House vote on the Epstein files.

He says he voted no because releasing the files "will absolutely result in innocent people being hurt."

Five seconds of Googling later... Ahhh yep, THERE it is.

It's public record for years that he's gone out of his way to protect multiple child predators in his community–a community saturated with hideous, brutal, systemic sexual violence and cruelty to adults as well

I just found out that in 2011 and 2012, I lived an 8 minute drive from Octavia Butler’s former home in Seattle.

Excited to tell my teen this - that’s where we lived in when he was born - and pass along a copy of the Parable of the Sower.

Given that the emails in question were about him exploiting his position against a junior-scholar mentee, he should not be allowed within a million miles of a classroom and should not be allowed to serve on any dissertation committees, etc etc etc.
Larry Summers tells @theharvardcrimson.bsky.social
he’s stepping back from all public commitments in light of his messages with Epstein, saying he is “deeply ashamed” and hopes “to rebuild trust and repair relationships.”

He will continue teaching.

i fell down a research K hole for 3 days and now know a frankly weird amount about pastrami and the history of romanian independence, but crucially NOT the fact i went diving so deep for, which has ELUDED me because culinary history is a mass of myths and lacunae

This moral radicalization happened at all levels in the Union army, very much including Ulysses S. Grant.

A lot of Northerners needed to SEE it to become true believers in the cause. But they did. It’s all there if you listen to the lyrics to The Battle Hymn of the Republic.
“I’ll fight until hell freezes over and then I’ll cut the ice and fight on”

One girl said “it doesn’t matter if you ban a book because everyone can find that information online” and then I blew their minds by talking about how your search history can be monitored and sold to the government without your permission, but your library borrowing history requires a warrant.

I simply want a world where everyone can be as kinky as they want to be with consenting adults but I never again have to see “news” about how long an old dude with a brain-worm who talks like the crypt keeper gargling sandpaper can edge.
I do not care what any consenting adult of any gender configuration does sexually with other consenting adults, and also my God, could you sweaty freaks who tragically currently run the world be a little a more goddamned discreet about it?
