Dear Christians:

If you need help avoiding antisemitism, a great rule of thumb is BLAME THE ROMANS. This ought in theory to be something that you can instinctively do, since they flippin' killed your Saviour. And it's remarkably often correct.
The reason only Pharisees survived is that other groups like the Sadducees were deeply attached to the Temple, which the Romans (same schmucks who killed Jesus) destroyed. It was the Pharisees who had the attachment to the Torah, something the Romans did not destroy.
THEM: Don't you realize this will destroy Bill Clinton, too?

ME: Two for the price of one? I'll take it!
"This could take down Democrats, too."

I know. And I frankly wouldn't give even an itty bitty damn if it implicated every Democratic man in Congress, every Democratic hopeful for 2028 and every Democrat who has even thought about running for office.

Down with the sex predators, wherever they are.

Of course one reason Chinese airports are so much better than U.S. ones is that they are, on average, a lot newer. China has built many new airports to replace old ones, like Guangzhou’s new Baiyun Airport. The old one wasn’t nearly so nice, or so I hear.
In many other regards, China is far ahead of the United States in infrastructure, notably in airports and rail systems. Of course this makes a lot of sense because these are projects of national importance that they can’t afford to mess up or let corruption undermine.

One can criticize China without using ethnic stereotypes. But even then, understanding China’s infrastructure requires more nuance. Many roads in China are indeed in abysmal shape, especially in places like western Sichuan, which are poor.

Okay but surely he should have said “and, you know, not make Palpatine return, that would be great.”

They will get their better deal the same day Trump releases his health plan.
They caved in March so they could get a better deal now. They’re caving now so they can get a better deal in some indeterminate future. The better deal is always just beyond their reach, but continuing to cave will get them there. And if you don’t agree with that, you don’t understand Politics,

Democracy (literally “rule by the fart”) is a form of government.

Here’s the thing: We could take a mulligan on the whole damn thing. France has had five republics and two empires in less time than we’ve had one. A second republic here won’t kill us.

Mamdani is going to implement Mario law. It’s-a me!
Mamdani is going to implement Shyamalan law. Everyone in the city will be issued their own shocking but heavily foreshadowed and ultimately kind of predictable plot twist.
Mamdani is going to implement sashimi law. Everything will be served sliced thin and raw, with pickled ginger and wasabi.

Can't say I was a great fan of the Veterans' Day assembly we had yesterday. Lots of flag waving and other performative patriotism, and some teachers wearing Charlie Kirk shirts because I live in the Texas of California. But more than anything it just made me feel alone in how much I don't paean war.

Since the Star Wars prequel dialogue is happening, I'm just going to say that Revenge of the Sith is actually a good one, even if the other ones really aren't. And that nearly all the credit for that needs to go to Ian McDiarmid for really making Palpatine one of the greatest villains ever.

Maybe I should go join you New Yorkers lol.
Mamdani says in his victory speech, “we will hire thousands of teachers.”

This, and not the proprietary chatbot classroom, is the future of education.

I don’t suppose there’s any chance the congressional GOP looks at this and decides they should end the shutdown on better terms than they’ve been trying… is there?

God I just realized my disgustingly Islamophobic dad is going to pissed AF about Mamdani.

Guess that’s a win, too.

Is this the part where the grand jury indicts the ham sandwich?
Border Patrol agent Lairmore testifies that he was not injured by the sandwich, but he felt the impact through his ballistic vest.

The sandwich came apart and "kind of exploded" on his chest upon impact, he says.

"I could smell the onions and mustard."
