Best I can do is homoerotic-flavored facism
My needs are very simple:

- actually getting to do the job I was hired for
- majoritarian pluralist liberal democracy
- twink
- liberal international order actually willing to uphold its principles

One battle after another really suffers I think from taking a Pynchon novel out of the 80s into something resembling present day. That 16 year time skip makes a lot more sense when the radicals are weather underground stand ins forced to live in Reagan's America.

I think the whole abundance-Klein project makes more sense if you think of the problem they’re trying to solve as: How do we, as political professionals with a center-left brand, find something we can still sell to the billionaires now that the offer from the other side has gotten so much sweeter?

Few things did more critical damage to North American downtowns than the demolishing of old buildings to build massive expanses of surface parking, along with the widening of roads to create huge one-way “car sewers,” all based on the failed theory that surrendering to cars would “save Downtown.”

Many shocking things about the last 24 hours; but the contrast between the Labour government’s response to peaceful protest against genocide, and its non-response to violent racist protest against liberal democracy, is high on the list.

TIL that for some people with irreparably damaged corneas, you can pull one of their teeth, drill a hole in it, install an artificial lens, sew it into their cheek (so tissue attaches), then pull it out and stick it in their damaged eye, and ... it works fine!?! www.nbcboston.com/news/health/...
Man, 34, is no longer blind after tooth is implanted in eye in 'crazy' surgery
Tooth-in-eye surgery sounds like science fiction, but it can help people with severely damaged corneas see again. A patient and his doctors describe what it's like.

An excellent investigation into one of the most frustrating features of modern culture, namely: all the movies are mid.
Bland, easy to follow, for fans of everything: what has the Netflix algorithm done to our films?
When the streaming giant began making films guided by data that aimed to please a vast audience, the results were often generic, forgettable, artless affairs. But is there a happy ending?

Eugenics in the present context is a small government ideology that excuses public health sabotage, privatization, & retrenchment. It does political work of alleviating the urgency of protecting human health by inserting a naturalized unequal valuation of human life
One thing Sensible Centrists refuse to acknowledge - and this was true during covid when people were also saying this stuff explicitly - is these people are eugnenicists who welcome a good plague to get rid of the old, botched, and bungled
Dr. Dmitri Daskalakis, who resigned from the CDC says that RFKJr said he believes that Avian flu should be allowed to "burn through" the chickens and then children and others, so we can propagate a "stronger species". RFKJr believes in eugenics.

RFKJr needs to resign or be fired.
