thought i'm having: Peacock should offer the world feed for every single event, just in case ppl don't want to hear a badly mic'd interview that is like "how are you enjoying this?" or a "no dialogue" option like HBO Max does lol

reminds me of John Strong's malaprop introducing the USMNT World Cup knockout round game in 2022: "it's survive or advance"
Gold Zone, women's ice hockey. "This is knockout time - semi final action. It's a cliche, but it's win or go home. Everyone's gotta go home eventually - no one live in Italy there."

i'm glad the creator of "scrubs" is taking time from his other shows, "soccer coach scrubs" and "therapist scrubs," to revive the show "scrubs"

Franzi Schimmer captured this Grizzly bear in Brooks Falls, Alaska just floating along, tippy-tapping down the river, browsing the salmon.

Prior to hibernation, up to 40% of a bear's body mass is fat, which is less dense than water (~0.9 g/cm^2), so the murder-monster is also a floaty-boaty.

well I'm glad the USA players/coaching staff found that first period as unacceptable in terms of offensive production as everyone watching did

at the point where i'm intrigued enough to search "skeleton near me" but i'm pretty sure i'd scream the whole way or crash and die at turn two
getting a gold medal for face down ass up sledding would rock honestly
[person watching luge in the 19th century] this is pretty cool but what if the competitors were laying face down, facing forward and the sport was called something weirdly terrifying like skeleton

was endlessly amused the other day that the USA-Latvia Olympics men's hockey game broadcast had its first period intermission report sponsored by Pokemon

Kenny Albert said the word with some gusto

i've thought about it for like a week now and basically every hockey scorebug should be structured like the olympics scorebug. maybe could be a smidge bigger, and of course networks would have their own little flourishes, but this is the ideal bug.

ah ha, they did for the men's team!
imo they should revive the NHL on NBC theme for US olympic hockey games

acknowledging an annoying ad's existence gives it power but man I can't wait for NBA All Star weekend to pass us by so we can be free of "everybody wants to rule the world (NBA stars' names version)"
February 12, 2026 at 8:32 PM
Jeremy Swayman saves that
February 12, 2026 at 8:27 PM
