/3 Worry that we're descending into totalitarianism, that we're shedding the rule of law, and that we're abandoning every American value and norm. Worry that America is showing its ass.

Worry that it's your moral obligation to stand up, even in a small way, to be counted.

Don't worry about the handful of sneering gatekeepers and protest-aesthetic snobs.

Don't worry about sneering Trumpers.

It also feels like an IMPORTANT one. This is a key time to push back and make a statement that normal people DO NOT SUPPORT the racism, bigotry, violence, and lawlessness of this authoritarian administration. A huge, peaceful turnout on 10/18 will send a huge message.

I thought these were the "stand your ground" guys, not the "if a homeless guy comes up to my car to squeegee the windows, I cut out a hole in my driver's seat where I can swiftly and fearfully void my bowels, and then I use the ejector seat button I put in to get the fuck out of there" guys.
Markwayne Mullin: "I'm not joking when I say this. I drive around Washington DC in my Jeep - yes, I drive myself - & I don't buckle up. The reason I don't buckle up - people can say whatever they want - is because of carjacking. I don't want to be stuck in my vehicle when I need to exit in a hurry."

The streets seemed to be packed for at least four blocks at #NoKings in Wichita today. I hope someone posts aerial shots -- I'd love to see just how many people were there.

One of these photos is how HBO's The Watchmen depicted a fascist police force back in 2018

The others are real photos of the ICE agents who are rounding people up and disappearing them in Boston, Denver, L.A., and elsewhere

The message is: crowd large.

Many politicians, administrators, and business leaders, in bowing to Trump, have drawn confidence and comfort from the perceived vibe shift.

Events like this puncture that delusion.
You can stop asking where the mass opposition is. It's everywhere.
People poured out to protest not only what Trump has done—and what they fear he will do next.

Please use ALT text on your protest photos.

Disabled people are left out of non-disabled activism. Accommodations are not made. Intersectionality does not apply. We aren’t invited to participate. We have to fight for ourselves.

Leaving ALT off your images leaves disabled people out yet again.

Good. This isn't rhetoric or hyperbole: On the current trajectory there is simply no way the United States survives a full Trump term as any kind of recognizable liberal democracy. Thinking about how to beat him in 2028 is a waste of time; it will be too late by then.
It seems clear we are seeing the beginnings of a sustained mass protest movement to oust Trump.

With trans folks facing a global annihilationist campaign, it is vital to support trans people loudly, often, and materially.

Fuck it. Trans folks need MATERIAL SUPPORT.

@distributeaid.org is launching an HRT Harm Reduction Toolkit that provides 1 year of medical supplies needed to take injection-based HRT. We were planning to go live in January, but I'm not waiting.
