So much tear gas & flash grenades tonight at ICE in Portland. US Gestapo came out, pushed people back & held a line as other feds shot down tear gas canisters from the roof. People were dancing before this as an impromptu rave broke out

Peaceful day until the LAPD decided to prove a point. Shame on @mayor.lacity.gov
Los Angeles, CA -

More pushing, shoving, “less lethal” projectiles towards the crowd that was assembled at Metro Detention Center. Protesters were as far as I can tell peaceful outside of remaining in the area (but were attempting to leave) until the charge from horse mounted units.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

The last time the U.S. hosted the World Cup, a ticket to the final was <$200 — in today's dollars.

Next year, we're looking at *face value* tickets of $6,000.

I joined Lina Khan on @pablotorrefindsout.bsky.social last week to talk about FIFA's absurd and greedy ticketing plans.

I hope we understand that all this talk about autism is ultimately eugenics, as is our concept of disability in the US.

It’s all based on one’s ability to perform capitalism. We assess value with KPI’s & deliverables.

JON KARL: What do you make of Pam Bondi saying she's gonna go after hate speech? A lot of your allies say hate speech is free speech

TRUMP: We'll probably go after people like you because you treat me so unfairly. You have a lot of hate in your hate. Maybe they'll have to go after you.

Monstrous:

So Starship Ship 36 just detonated *before* the static fire test - fueled and waiting for the test. Looks like the top tank lets go and sets off the whole stack. It would be bad enough if it let go during the static fire test, but it just blew up. And it's cooking off the fuel tanks on the pad.

I can’t think of anyone in the US who did more to show the Iranian people as they truly are than Rick Steves and Anthony Bourdain. The episodes they did on Iran would play constantly at our house for guest who may (or may not) have had any curiosity about the country.
In the spring of 2008, I feared America was on the verge of war with Iran — and, believing that it’s good style to get to know people before you bomb them, I made “Rick Steves’ Iran,” a one-hour special that could (and would) only debut on PBS. Sadly, this special has become pertinent again today.

protect your eyes, protect your head. "less lethal" munitions are lethal when fired directly at a human being and cops love to use them this way. pepperballs will take your eye out, a tear gas canister can fracture your skull.
cops will kill you on purpose and by accident, all with impunity.
